Re: Free help with your computer

I'm a diehard PC guy myself, running a Gateway laptop and a Compac tower, although occasionally I do mess around with the g/f's Dell and her Mac powerBook G4.

Only redeeming value I see in one of the older first-gen iMacs is for target practice ....

If you find that nothing will work, I would get an external case that supports NAT/NAS (network attached storage), that way you can plug the drive into the NAT/NAS case, hook the case into the network and access the drive through the (home) network which should take care of all the translation problems.

Nick.
Okay so basically buy an external case, Put the drives one by one in there and hook them up?

Re: Free help with your computer

Pretty much, it's kinda a guessing game with just a usb or firewire case, I've seen it work sometimes and not work other times, but if you get an external case with NAT/NAS it will have a spot in the back of the case for a network cable, then the NAS case becomes a "Server" which PC, MAC, LINUX, etc will all be able to read.

Re: Free help with your computer

Nick, I just wish I could figure out how to copy and paste my photos from
Photobucket, to a post or thread, so I could show people the mods I have
made, to many parts. I tried a few months back, I right clicked, click copy
but after that I could not figure out where the copy went or how I paste it to a post or thread. I right clicked the photo, went to the IMG. box, tried to copy it, but could not figure out if it copied or not, and what do I do now?? My photos all have names, not Jpeg numbers, so I don't know if
that had anything to do with it. I have looked, at alot of photos, with Jpeg numbers behind them on threads.
I wanted to ask if it would be possible to have multiple avatar photos,
like a C1, when your on Water Cooled, and Cag or X18 on Air Cooled bike?? Probably to much for your storage??

Re: Free help with your computer

What I would is browse through photobucket till you get to the photos you want, click on it to get it to 100% size, *Right* mouse click on the picture, then choose "save to disk" or "save image as" and a mini file browser should pop up asking you where to save the image to, the easiest thing to do is click on "Desktop" then hit save and when you make the browser go away the saved image should be waiting for you on the desktop...

Let me see if I can make some screen shots for you...

photo one shows the right click "save image as" method with the mini file browser up and if you look to the left of the file browser "desktop" is highlighted (clicked on once) then just hit save and the file should be on your desktop..

photo 2 shows clicking on the built in download button, you would want to "hover" the mouse over the black part that says "download" then click just below on the orange where it says "high res image" it should go to your pictures folder, the 3rd picture is showing to get to the pictures folder, just click the start bar (start button) or (windows button) then to the right of that menu you should see one called "Pictures"

The pictures we're made using windows 7, and google chrome, so let me know if it's too different in windows xp, or when using internet explorer, because I can make some more screen captures if it is...

Nick.

Re: Free help with your computer

Nick, Thanks for the info, I just briefly look at the content, but have been
working on Three different bikes at the same time till almost dark everyday but I am having fun, I Think.
I will read it later, looks like I can understand it better, so I will take some photos on my Cheap 2 meg. camera and send them to windows Pictures, and or, Kodak Easy share where you can reduce 12 megs to .64
I got a $200 X6 hp 2 piece exhaust for the X18 $70, held w/ springs, side mount.
Put a 19mm dell rep carb. on my 49cc big bore #1 drag engine. Put a .98
jet in place of the .95 stock, alot of smoke and fuel coming out of the pipe like its to rich. I runs great but it dies out wide open on my Engine Stand.
I need a jet kit for the 26mm Mikuni, for the X18, after you rev. it a few times it bogs out, like not enough gas, then you can rev. it again, then
stalls out, but have not Road Tested It, Yet.

Re: Free help with your computer

First of all, I hope this isn't considered bumping, but anyways, on to my problem. This just started recently. I can't open pop-ups. Like the upload photos menu just shows a blank page. Same with when I was on a shopping site and I tried to open an "item details" popup. I don't think its my pop-up blocker, because the pages are opening, they just aren't displaying anything. Any idea what the problem is?

Midbike maniacs need their fix!

It's the pop up blocker! <---I'm betting you fixed it right after this!
