Pit Bike

Hello all, can anyone tell me what kind of bike this is. Pics attached. I need to get a chain and brake cables for it. It reads it’s a Honda under the seat but I can’t find anything on line that looks like this. Thanks 20378028-C3B0-43CB-8AA2-9695C9B028EE_1576511525659.jpg

FWIW, the motor is a Chinese reed valve CAG.

wow thats new 🙂 its a china pit bike with a cag engine without a transmishon I bet you can use standard mountain bike cables for that thing... look up 47cc engine on ebay for engine parts. ( that bike used to have the Piston ported engine or the 4 stroke on it you can see how somebody made a mount for The cag engine) the seat is the onley thing honda about it 🙂

Re: Pit Bike

Don't think that is the original engine either. You need a 3 to 1 reduction trans over the clutch it moves your front engine sprocket 6 or 7" back so when your swing arm moves up and down the chain don't drag on the front of the swingarm where it's mounted.
I love the frame though, the swing arm looks alum, is the frame alum also. Or, was it a 50cc four stroke engine? See photo of the trans type you need, there are different lengths trans. See photo.
You need a better exhaust than that can. tuned exhaust, and I would modify the stock carb and re-jet it to .70mm main jet, a V stack will help also.

Don’t know much about it. Bought it just like this the other day. The bike is super light so looks like it’s an aluminum frame.

Guys, thanks for the help. Could you possibly point me in the right direction as to which extension and chain I should look into buying. I’m an amateur when it comes to this stuff, just enjoy fixing things up lately.

the swing arm is aluminum the rest of the bike is steal. looks like a coolster to me... the 125cc probley broke and the guy had a 47cc CAG engine laying around and mounted it up not thinking to mutch about the chain line or the gearing...

your going to need a transmishon
https://www.monsterscooterparts.com/...BoCfXIQAvD_BwE then you can figure out if the engine is in a good spot if its not you will have to re mount it

Re: Pit Bike

That trans will probably work, but it has an 8mm sprocket, for T8F chain. There are also #25 chain sprockets for that trans. First you need to fined what your rear sprocket is, or chain. They sell them with a #25 sprocket too, or you can order one online.

Re: Pit Bike

Judging by the rear band brakes it looks like an electric version converted to gas...

You mean like the fact it doesn't even have a front brake....You would be absolutely correct...

I think if the OP wants to go as fast as a DB49 he should at least get a front disc brake for safety....

Re: Pit Bike

It looks like #25 sprocket, if your chain is real long you can add a spring loaded chain tensioner, to keep tension on the chain as the swingarm goes up and down. I would look for 10Ft, 3 meters or so, of #25H chain and a #25 master link or two. They have gold colored chains and masters too.

Like EPR said its #25...…..By the looks of the size of the rear sprocket which looks between 80-90tth it looks like it will top out at around 9-10mph full throttled so you may be right by that question/statement about actually needing the brakes...LOL………

It'll definitely be a very torquey bazterd with a gear ratio of around 15:1………..

To get it to 10:1 ratio to get speeds closer to 15-25mph you'll need a 10 or 9tth pinion...…….

Re: Pit Bike

I was looking at that rear gear also. I was also thinking about 10 to 1 ratio. You can change to a smaller rear gear also. I would search around for a 3rd bearing clutch housing w/ bigger pinion, I found one that came w/ an 8 tooth here. You can buy 9 and 10 tooth online, but there are many different types, have to make sure it fits you bell and threads.
Would love to mount this billet alum highly modified Cag reed port engine, that CAM2 worked his Magic on, lol. We call it " The Beast ", lol.

Re: Pit Bike

I have a DR-X 50cc holeshot, I bought for my son. The stock carb is horrible. Any recommendations on which carb to upgrade to? It's one of those 2-stroke, 50cc auto transmission chinese motors.

Get a 15mm WYK192 pumper carb setup from ebay for $20-25.00...…….

Heres a link

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Racing-Carb...sAAOSw0yVcZF~y

Youre also gonna need a pumper carb fuelline kit for it too...…..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/49cc-49cc-3...MAAOSwrklVHGPv

Seeings it says the bike is EPA aswell as California Compliant so that means the thing is riddled with restrictors..You already know the carb is one. Another will be a restriction inside the expansion chamber for the exhaust....

The engines they put on them are tool based engines fitted on Augers, trashpumps and brushcutters..Theyre roughly 2hp too...

Good Luck and welcome to the forum......
