First step

Get out to the track and talk to other riders and see if it is for you. It is alot more fun and safer than streets or parking lots. You meet alot of great people and make plenty of friends. So go to the track or local series and get some track time.

Re: First step

Ask questions. Most racers are perfectly willing to talk with you about the sport.

Some of the typical questions would be:

-What kind of bike is this?
-What size engine?
-How fast does it go?
-What would suit a person my size?
-About how much is it for one of these bikes?
-What would I need to race one of them?
-Is it fun? YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear haters: Please be patient. I have so much more for you to be annoyed about.

Re: First step

i think the number one tip for any raceing sport is its cheap to race, exspensive to win.

But the people who have nice things and are quick around the track, didnt show up their first day with a new bike and were quick, they often started out just like everyone else, and slowly gained their skills up to where their bike was limiting their speed, then they would seek performance parts. You can have the fastest bike out there, but if you cant ride it, you might as well be on the slowest one.
