Yes indeed repurposing most stuff saves alot of time in most cases and you have just as much fun when you get to cruise it...

All my stretched cags have BMX bike rear arms....Ones from a Mongoose,,,Ones from a Kent and the other from some bike called NEXT....

Aslong as people throw out bicycles Ill pick them up to repurpose them.....The mainframe tubes are also useful aswell as the steering neck....These projects will be finished one day...Having so many things to ride already puts lots of projects on the back burner....Its gonna be a 8hp road ripper with those balloon type bike tires...Theres a couple more project builds too.....Ones got a 3 1/2hp two stroke snowthrower engine pumped up to 14:1,,,,Now it just needs to be finished aswell...

This standup scooter with ultra modded 43cc started its life as an APC mini harley.....It took a few hours to transform it and a day to mod the engine....Not a week or two.....

Nice looking bike Blitz....I miss the days of having a street legal superbike.....It sux NY wont allow them to be registered on Long Island for street use anymore;- just offroad use so I just ride my fullsize bikes

Seeings they have those reverse trikes that are street legal aswell as regular trikes Im trying to see if the DMV here will allow registration of a quad modified with a 600cc streetbike engine plus a split differential rear with 14" street rims/ tires but Im not holding my breath theyll say yes....

With the extra frame tubes and the extra stiff 3/16"steel top engine mounts plus the extra fork clamp on the front forks there is hardly any......Its mainly road texture n bumps feeding back ......

Not to mention the engine is as balanced as a 2 stroke can get which I would say 80-85%......If I can find the pictures Ill post up what I did to the crank on this engine but the mods on it are definately working on this engine.....

Somethings I leave a mystery so I can maintain a slight edge thats mysterious....

I love the posts on the web when two stroke experts say you cant balance a 2 stroke engine..
I'd love to see how u balanced ur crank epr! I think I read a thread about balancing the crank before which was something with drilling 4 holes of 13 mm in too the 2 disks of the crankshaft if I remember correctly

It should because it is a Military Standard 4 stroke OHV 8hp engine Made by the Chrysler Outboard Engine Company.....The carbs are built by Tillotson...

The engine design hasnt changed much as this engine was designed in 1952 and manufactured for the military by the thousands as replacement engines for the military equipment like waterpumps,,gasoline heaters that produce 400,000btus of heat and alot of other things for whichever branch of the military purchases them,...

They have modular cylinders aswell as an automobile engine type oilpan with an internal oilpump aswell as a fuelpump slaved off to keep the engine properly fed at alltimes the fueltank has fuel....

They are very unlike a Briggs,, Techumseh or Honda/Chinese OHV engine..........The torque produced by these engines way surpasses them aswell as longevity of life...

Lots of haitian people have bought up my 8hp military water pumps to send back to Haiti for irrigating their crops and one guy hounds me to sell him these low low hours engines Im stockpiling which is about 12....8 are in sealed crates....

In a pic one engine is a 1972 that has points type ignition system and the other is a 1986 with an electronic ignition system....the points types can be converted....theres guys selling the upgrades on ebay for around $65.00

Re: Absolute must read! Pbotm is back!!!!!

I just found a DM roller, $225, going to meet the guy the first part of October 1/2 way, buying my own birthday gift, my wife don't know yet, It's hard to be a Pocket Bike Addict, lol. It has a front wheel that looks like a GRC GP rim, The rear has a center billet piece but no outer rim. I just saw a 75mm wide billet outer rim on eBay for $40GBP about $70 plus US total shipped. There is some other stuff, no sure about body work, going to by another $75 plus $20 S/H complete, same as my avatar GRC GP bike.

One of my older ones, but still a good'u. This is my Purple Beast: 47cc Cag/Daytona, port-matched exhaust, cylinder, racing carb, davation's reed mod, plus some other stuff I forget.

Y'all might recognize the other bike in the picture - that's The Rat, still going strong.

ty ty, I like the different looks I get, most are like wt fis that, the sport bikes usually wave, Harleys not so much, kids are the best - they stare like its the best thing they ever saw, kinda like I did when I was that age and saw a old tomos
no I don't think they gonna let you have that 'superquad' (they probably know you by now), just plate something legal/normal and then change it after
I really don't like the new trikes, its getting crazy

Blitz's X15 - Ninja 110R aka Track Bike
YX 184cc, V2 head, decomp, Yoshi RS9 exhaust, 14/28 gearing, vee rubber race tires, S-Tech forks, dual caliper brakes, flipped swingarm with fastace shock, see my bike at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=blitzminc

Good to see you making a pitstop and posting the Beast and the Rat..........

I wish I could be making this post with my old screenname[CAM2] but for some odd reason there seems to be a shortage of people who can assist re-viving my old account.....

I hope things are getting better...

I dont recall posting up the pics of the full circle crank mods but did a pretty detailed write-up on one of the threads I cant recall but it was most likely something by N!PPLES...........But even on those posts I left out how to fully balance the main body of the FCC.....

The main culprit that throws off the main balance of the FCC is the con-rod pin.........

What needs to be done is a slight lightening of the pin by crossdrilling it then 180* across from that you add counterweight of equal weight as the pin and the pin only which isnt as much as youd think cause theres math that needs to be done to figure out the true weight because theres weight removed from the counterweights when drilled for the conrod pin that offsets the counterweight final tally....

weighing the pin is just a start which requires a quick disassembly of the crank to do some weighing of parts unless you can guestimate counterweight......On the evil wasp engine I think I had to add 7 grams of counterweight...When I put an old lightened piston on the modified FCC without rings inside a bottomend and spun it in the cylinder that came from the old piston with a flywheel installed and the piston went up n down vertically two reps more than the same piston n cylinder using an unmodified full circle crank...

I cant find my buildbook but I reassembled the crank with the pin in my hydraulic press and used an extra crankcase with bearings to rotate the crank then balanced it with stick-on wheel weights then drilled the crank and added molten lead to the hole and rechecked for balance and had to adjust once before getting sufficient balance...

If you know how to add and subtract weight to automotive cranks you know how to do the FCC aswell....Same principal...Its a laboreous task to go through unless you need that slight edge for racing because IMO those heavy duty cranks they have for these engines work alot better than those FCC's........

Balancing the main part of the reciprocating mass of the FCC itself eases up alot of harsh harmonic distortion vibration feedback.....

It's alright, Harleys don't wave much when I'm on my grom. But I don't care, the grom is more fun then their Harley anyway.

I ride a wide array of bikes drive a vast array of cars n trucks and let me tell ya Ive had a couple of really fun to ride Harleys like the V-Rod and the XL1200 Sportster Sport....

Those bikes could handle aswell as perform right off the showroom floor.........:thumbsup

I guess Im kind of an exception to the opinion....No matter what I ride or what others ride....If its got two wheels they get the thumbs up....even scooter riders....
