What's up, I live in Morrisville, NC and was wanting to find some local races. I have a parts business for cars and I am looking into maybe setting up some pocket bike business as well. I am also interested in building a Mini Motorsports Park as there are NONE in the general vicinity. I think this area needs something like that. There are a few Go Cart places to go, but they are dirty and the tracks are terrible and you can't ride bikes on the course. Please give me some feed back as to the general opinions of people you know as to the interest level of something like this. I know there is a huge interest in Cali, Texas, Vegas and Euorpe for this stuff but I have not seen much on the East Coast. I would love to host some of the races and sponsor events and such. I know they are banning all the kids from riding bikes in all the private neighborhoods here and there is simply no place to ride. Any input and feedback would be appreciated.

race track

i think that a track in nc would work out great for the simple fact that there is nowhere to race on a track the bikes and riders are out there in nc ive just gotten into it in the past couple of months and have talk to many people with bikes wanting to get together and ride and have maid a new friend with a guy on here and since have been rideing together putting out cones in a large paved private area and if it werent for this i would have nowhere to ride execpt my street the guy i ride with really wants to race on a track with his he is a very good rider he has sev. bikes italian and chinese we wear helmets and gear when we ride at his place my othere friend got into the sport and has since sold 6 bikes to people that have seen his and had to have one and thats all been within a 1 month period thing about selling them is to have good bikes at good prices prob. most bikes you would sell would be the chinese but if i were going to sell pocket bikes i would also have some of the real deal bikes like blata polini grc and so on it would be so nice to have a track for us to race on and open practice times to tune and ride i thing it would be really busy for the first couple months and then slack off a bit thing is with this you have to have new people coming all the time and offer them somthing to get them to come example good race purses or like a race for a bike night you could charge like a 35 or 40 intry fee to race say you have 10 people enter the race thats 400 dollars and give away a new chinese bike to the winner after paying for the bike you would still make around 200 dollars just on entry fee not counting things like parts tires food and so on host things like family night where kids and there parents can come out and ride together not all people want to race but would like to ride in a safe fun location its just things like that that keep people interested in things of this nature you dont have to do things like that every night just every good month or so with you reg. races.and in the cold winter months when none wants to ride (cause its to cold) maybe have someone come in and teach about how to rebuild a pocket bike engine or proper tire set up or gears somthing on the line of that .anything to make a few bucks during slow times but thats about it . just speaking from other hobbys ive been into that i wish had done stuff like that that didnt and now are out of bus. (slot car racing )

Thanks for the input Hamby. If I were to do something like this I would carry a variety of bikes for all budgets. It would not be only Racing. Mostly a Mini Park to test and tune, practice, race. Main focus would be on the locals. I would probably have a couple of different bikes for rent (kids, intermediate, advanced), probably different Chinese bikes for this. As I would want to have some gear for rent and sale as well as bikes for rent and sale. Get them riding and then they can purchase based on thier experience, as well if this is something they want to do as a hobby/sport. I would then focus on events(races, scrambles, Father son/Mother/daughter stuff). Eventually get some recognition and then see about getting some big races out here. Mostly East Coast people and I would love to hold some national events. In the mean time I will be looking for some land. Also if things go well I would like to do an indoor place as well for those cold days. Keep the input coming guys, positive or negative I don't care I just need some feedback. Increse the Peace!

Speed Syndicate so you live in moreofficeville huh i live just down the road in greensboro well not so much down the road but i use to live in the raleigh area and my parents still do. anywho i know there is a lot of big and empty parking lots in that area that are out of the way of the public view maybe you could talk to some owners and see if you could get permission to ride on one and maybe some of us from central NC could get together and have a something like a practice race or free ride. anywho just a thought.

It works for us. We are only interested in drag racing. Sorry it's "too small" for ya. I'm sure you can find a big parking lot somewhere in Raleigh.

NCPA Forming

Hi,
We are trying to get the Nortch Carolina Pocketbike Association going.
We are based in the Triangle area and are looking for riders to get together for fun rides, racing, drag racing etc. It seemed that there were a lot of people here but no one place to go.
We also have arranged for pocket bikes to be available for wholesale to members, plus we have a tech guy to help "tune" your bike (this is free when you come out)
Get in contact with us and lets get something organized so we can all have fun.
contact;

Ncpa

You triangle guys need to organize a Charlotte division as well, there are many in the surrounding area and we have go-cart tracks and the various Nascar and Mini-stock Circle tracks with road coarses.....

I would be interesting in helping if you need a local contact.

Thanks,

J. Love

Hey guys, we're located in Greensboro. At this time we just have a shop that carries the bikes and parts(both performance and stock) and services. We're in the process of looking for a space to build a track around GSO area. We're most def. holding our first racing event for this year early spring. More info will be availible soon...I'll keep everybody posted. I also would like to know the APPOX. number of people that would be interested in the event so we could plan accordingly.
