Hi,
We in the Triangle would love to work with you all over the state. The whole idea of the NCPA is to promote fun AND racing for everyone. The more people that are involved, the better it is. We can have events all over the state, and meeting 1/2 way sometimes. We are completely non-profit and only in this for the fun. We have arranged for members to be able to buy bikes direct from manufacturers, and will offer tuning clinics for anyone interested.
You can reach us at [email protected] , www.audiorealms.com/ncpa.html
Come on y'all, lets make a big party out of it!

Does anyone know the regulations or laws against gas scooters in NORTH CAROLINA, especially ones that apply the pocket bikes? Thanx.

Dmv

You can call your local DMV office and they should be able to help you. It usually varies from county to county, city to city, or town to town ect. Each jurisiction may have laws above and beyond what the state says/has about motor vehicles.

i noticed there hasnt been much talk on here in months... i'm wondering if people near raleigh ever got some sort of organization going? me and some friends just got a bike and it's been a blast riding around a parking lot, i figure it'd be fun to meet up with some people.

We are here .. just not so sure of people in the area anymore

HI.
We are still here and still ride pretty regular, we have just not had much luck with people in the area. There are too many that want to street race, or will not ride safely. We have more or less kept to ourselves. If you are interested just let me know here and we can chat and then hook up and ride.
We can also get high end bikes wholesale for people that ride with us if that is a help.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Ride where ever you can

Hi,
We ride mostly in parking lots. We actually checked with the police as to where we could ride without getting into trouble and they gace us a couple of suggestions. Their attitude towards us was that if we were taking the time to ask, using safety equipment and promoting responsible riding then they would cut us some slack as to where. We do ride at night mostly though.
We also have some friends out towards Lexington that habe a big place for us to ride anytime
Let me know if you want to ride some day or weekend and we could get together. We just got a new Alien Motors bike, it is the best quality that we have seen and is priced reasonably. Plus, they are great to deal with.
Anyways, we need to get out and practice with that bike as well.

Yeah the law is must be under 50cc and go less than 30mph. Must have a *** helmet and be over 16 years old and you can ride on the stree legally. You DO NOT need blinkers, headlight or horn for street use, if you meet the above requirements. I ride my to the store to pick up a loaf of bread all the time.

As this law applies to pocketbikes, don't be misled. You cannot ride a pocketbike on the road in North Carolina EVER. They do not meet the minimum height requirements. Stated above is as it applies to scooters, not pocketbikes.
