Re: Georgia series?

Have you guys considered racing at Barnesville 1/2 mile track? If not would you consider.

Here is the reason I am asking. I am very involved in the karting end and with the discussions of the new track owners they are looking to get more events beyond just karting. I think the Pocket Bikes would have a lot of fun at Barnesville.

Practice is $35 per day for as much track time as you want. If you have interest, let me know and I can provide you information to either contact the track owner. Here is the link to the track lamarcountyspeedway.com.

Another thought for you guys that we may be able to coordinate. We have kart races twice a month. We may be able to add your class into our series. We have live timing and scoring too.

Let me know your thoughts

Re: Georgia series?

OK GUYS AND GALS, SOME OF YOU KNOW AND SOME WILL BE HAPPY TO HEAR THAT WE SET UP A CLUB CENTERED IN GEORGIA.
WE HAVE A FEW TENATIVE DATES SET UP BUT NOTHING IN STONE.
I WON'T BORE EVERYONE WITH ALL THE DETAILS AND WILL WAIT TIL THE FOURM IS SET UP FOR OUR GROUP.

I WILL PASS ALONG TWO THINGS.

1- WE ARE GOING TO BE RUNNING THE SOUTHEAST BRANCH OF THE USMGP.
THE NAME WE HAVE AGREED TO IS USMGP-SPA (SOUTHEASTERN POCKETBIKE ALLIANCE. THANKS TO ALL THE RIDERS THAT WERE ABLE TO ATTEND THE DINNER. SORRY TO THOSE THAT MISSED OUT ON THE VOTES.

WE ARE RUNNING 3 CLASSES FOR THE SERIES AND WILL HAVE ALL THE USMGP CLASSES ON DAYS THAT WE PUT ON A 2 DAY EVENT.
(DATES TO FOLLOW AS WE SPEAK WITH OTHER GROUPS TO PREVENT CONFLICTS)

CLASSES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS.

2.5
Bikes must be Cag - Blata 2.5 HP production BLUEBIRD BASED engine.
any modification to pipe ,motor, chasis, wheels, is allowed.
CLUTCHES MUST REMAIN STOCK NON ADJUSTABLE however, upgraded springs are allowed.

MODIFIED PRODUCTION
Blata Elite 14 6.2
Polini or BZM Powered 6.2
Modified Blata Elite 13 Jr.
Modified Polini Powered 4.2
Pocketbikes must have production based Polini Series 2 engines or Blata Elite 14 engines. Bikes may be air or water cooled 40 cc with 3 port head and can have up to 14-14 mm carburetor. Pocketbikes competing in this class may have no crank upgrades. Any exhaust may be used. **

OPEN CLASS-ANYTHING GOES

2-TODAY.,MARK, BETH AND MYSELF WENT TO MIDDLE GA KART TRACK TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER AND DISCUSS PLANS FOR PRACTICE DATES, TRACK RENTAL AND TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE TRACK.
THE TRACK IS EXTREMELY NICE!
BEING THAT IT IS IN SOUTH GA. I HOPE WE GET SOME OF THE FLORIDA RIDERS. THEY WILL LOVE IT DUE TO THE TECHNICAL NATURE OF IT. THE OWNER DISCUSSED THE ADDITTION OF 2000 FEET TO BE PUT IN AFTER THE RAINS OF APRIL. THE TRACK REMINDS ME ALOT OF JAX TRACK FOR THOSE THAT HAVE RUN IT. I WONT GIVE MY REVIEW SINCE I AM THE LEAST TO TRY AND EXPLAIN HOW TO RIDE. ALL I WILL SAY IS THAT MR. HERRIN BUILT A TRACK THAT HE IS TRYING TO GET ON THE MAP. HE SPARED NO EXPENSE ON THE GRIP AND EVEN SHOWED ME A PICTURE OF THE GUYS RUNNING SLICKS IN THE RAIN WITH KNEES ON THE SURFACE. WITH A 9 YEAR OLD AND 13 YEAR OLD RIDING IT DAILY, "I WANTED PERFECTION" FOR THEIR SAFETY, HE SAID. AND HE HAS DONE THAT.

OUR FIRST EVENT WILL BE HELD ON FEB. 22nd
WE WILL ALTERNATE WITH THE KARTS ON THIS DAY BUT SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF TRACK TIME.

Re: Georgia series?

Hello all in Georgia. I'm new here and interested in pocket bikes. I don't own one yet but I am looking to buy and get involved. I am happy to volunteer so I can learn the ropes.

Re: Georgia series?

The next race is March 29th with open practice the day before (sharing track with karts). Same bat track, same bat channel. A thread should be going up soon about the details.

For the guy that wants to volunteer...I know we can always use someone at the track for timing or corner flagging. Come on down to the track on raceday and we can put you to work also keep on posting and let us know you're here. We might also be able to wrangle a bike for you to putter around on that day...you never know, check back.

For the Barnesville guy: we originally were planning on using Barnesville too but after bounced emails and whatnot (I know when I called the number I had was disconnected)...we opted to go elsewhere for obvious reasons. I for one love where we're at but would also be open to an occasional race in Barnesville, so if you have info it won't hurt anything to exchange information.

There is plenty of racing going on in Dublin GA. Google up MGKT, the track is owned and operated by the Herrin family. You can get the info you need from the site.

I'm a young man trapped in a old man's body. But i guess some people would call that immature.
