same pattern in Miami as in San Diego, California

it's the same pattern that happened in San Diego not more than 5 months ago when I was there.

You'd find a nice open parking lot on the weekend, then the cops would come. they'd first give you a warning about how this is private property, do you have consent to ride here?......blah,blah,blah. then they'd tell you that is was a warning and that you could'nt ride there anymore. if you kept riding, then they impounded your bike, gave you a ticket and you were basically Fk'd.

so boys, looks like you'll need to be finding another place to ride.

Where is this Homestead AFB? I mean, is it a parking lot, asphalt, what is it? is there anyone there? is there anyone there on the weekends?

Homestead Karting track!!!

I'm tellin you guys........if everyone can just commit to going to the Homestead Karting track, only 40 riders we need, the Schroder fellow would create a closed track day or evening for the pocketbikes but he can only do it if he gets at least 40 riders.......................COME ON ALL.!!!!! Let's see who would go to the Homestead Karting track and make a pocketbike ride happen!!!!!

let's take a count...........how many of you would go on a weekend there? Say Saturday around 9 or 10am???? who's willing. I'd do it.

Rob

Again, Tony's phone number is 305-469-6188. He's the guy in charge of the Homestead Karting track on the weekends. if we can get just 40 meazly riders, he WILL set up a track day/or night for us.

well barryallen...HAFB is the airforce base park we use, i think it belongs to the airbase, or county, its a park that hardly anyone knows about, so its kind of not being used....well i live over the street along with other vets....the area is more retiered veterans living there, i use the park to run some times, you might have couple ppl in there, but its not busy at all......residents normally take their kids so they can ride there little go-cart and bikes some times....but now the area is getting populated with all these dam housing going up...i know its not going to last too long......so we need to get together and form some kind of commitee to start the sport here...i here the liability insurance is the hardest thing to get......i am willing to put in some time to save the sport.........but i need other ppl help and idea, also if some of the ongoing clubs in other states can actually give us a hand on how to start this thing up.....

Hey I'm also down to set up a day to ride at the Homestead track so let me know guys...If every-1 meets up this Sunday at the AFB then maybe we could just tell every-1 out there the info and either have every-1 call Tony (the guy 4rm Homestead track) or have some kind of paper with like signatures or something so that Tony can know that there are a lot of people that are interested in riding the PB's at the track...That would be soooo much better than having to find different sopts every time and having problems with the cops....There are so many ppl that are interested in finding a track to ride their bikes at cuz everytime I go to the shop where I got my bikes every-1 always asks if theres a track they can ride on and where....So I'm pretty sure if the track at Homestead opens for the PB's that place will end up being really packed with ppl....

Well I didn't go last nite but I was there on Tuesday nite and I don't know if they were giving tickets but I do know that the cops were scoping out the scene and then out of nowhere they came with their lights turned on and one was on one side of the track where ppl were racing and the other stood on the other side.... What I do know is that the guys that were racing at the moment the cops called them over...Some guy was going around telling every-1 that the cops were going to start giving tickets out so several ppl got into their cars and left....I really don't know for what reasons the cops where there but I would like to know cuz I want to keep on going out there as long as the cops don't HARRASS any-1....Well if any-1 knows the true reasons for the cops being there just let me know

Homestead track.

listent to what I'm saying guys.
this happened in San Diego. everytime we tried to find a place to ride, cops would eventually show up and tell us to leave.

the only place to be able to ride these pocketbikes is on a closed circuit track like the one in Homestead. that's why it is imperative that the pb community here in Miami try to get together and see if Tony Schroeder can setup a day (preferably in the daytime on a weekend) when he allows pb's to ride the track. that's how they did it in SoCali. the shifter kart tracks over there would set up one day exclusively for pb's and turn outs were good.

I wont be here the weekend of the 15th of this month but perhaps the weekend of the 22nd I can meet some of you out there at the HOmestead track to talk to Tony.
