I have a b1 rep and my pulley doesn't look cogged

When I bought the bike I could pull the snapped pulley belt out with my fingers and it wasn't a cogged one either

Is it my understanding some b1s are cogged and some are not

Thanks👍

Re: Water pump pulley belts & Pulley

Is this a real Blata or clone?? If it is a clone don't say Blata B1, say China B1 or C1. Blata parts will probably work in a C1. Have you been online to pocketbikeparts or scooterparts4less, they use to carry MT-A4 Clone parts. When I rebuilt my 50cc C1 I used SKF bearings and Dupont Red shaft seal on a new pump shaft. The China stuff is Junk, and you have to pull the engine and split the cases to fix it, that get Old. Or look on eBay, MT-A4 pocket bike parts, for clone stuff. Not sure where to get Blata parts, Stoney at MSMM.com went out of business.

The second pic is an original Blatapart, they use toothed belt like a timing belt, you need the original blata flyweel and pulley.
The chinacopy bikes mta4, blata rep, c1 use a round belt like an o-ring.
The first pic is a belt for transmission on the backweel for external watherpumps, like on the most ital. Bikes( grc, dm, stamas and so on).

I add a pic of an original blata pulley.
The china part is from alloy without tooth.

Edit: found some rings when you need one give me messures or pm me.

Yes, and I gave you 2 stores that have MT-A4 parts. Its not going to be easy, you will have to keep searching. eBay has whole new engines ready to run $299. Buy a new engine and then you can modify your own engine.

Cool. so genuine blata is cogged and copies are not cogged
I pulled out a snapped belt when I got the bike. I know it's not cogged and it is a alloy metal wheel
Thanks👍

Re: Water pump pulley belts & Pulley

The alum alloy flywheel has the O ring pully on the back side and a rubber O ring belt to the pump shaft pulley. It also has magnets that pass the coil above it and make a spark.

He means the pulley on the waterpumpshaft, chinatyp is made from alloy, blatatyp is made from pvc.

I used to use those 5 and 6mm wide GT2 type cogged belts in the Microrobotics field back in 01/02.Theres many many applications for them besides.

We used to have the steel and kevlar reinforced belts along with a splicing machine to make custom sizes.

One thing I remember about them is the regular nylon reinforced belts can handle about 20% more power than a stadard belt but theres a tradeoff aswell.

If I was gonna use a belt for the waterpump Id use the non-cogged type as they have a lesser co-efficient of friction meaning as torque is applied if theres no type of slippage then theres a slight holdback in power..

Right now youd be saying the slip can cause the belt to break and the engine to run hotter but thats the tradeoff and Viton is a pretty tough and resilient material.

When you run the waterpump off the rear tire or the clutch housing like Polini does when the bike isnt moving or the rear wheel isnt spinning the water isnt pumping so a lil bit of belt slip to keep the power crispy isnt so bad...
