Well I guess it depends.... if you're talking about these China cloned horizontal 4strokes. But in general 4strokes make more lowend power. Whereas the 2stroke motors makes more power on the topend. To reallyget the best out of a 2stroke you have to keep the rpms up in the sweet spot. The 2strokes especially the pocketbikes can be a lot more user friendly. It makes for a little bit of a different riding style. With a 4stroke you have to be real good with the clutch when down shifting entering a turn because of the engine braking. Meaning if you just dump the clutch while going into a turn at lean. The engine can cause the rear wheel to lock up for a few and cause the rider to crash. With the 2stroke it's no where near as bad and for the pocketbikes you don't have to worry at all about this scenario.
For me the 2strokes were easier to ride and go fast. But on that note i was able to beat 40cc unlimited mod watercooled pocketbikes and 50cc open mod watercooled pocketbikes on my 4stroke x18. They had more horsepower than me but i had the torque to shoot out of the turns. And that's where i would gap them. Oh and these were euro pocketbikes ,polini, grc, blata and 1 phantom oh and a couple of b1 origamis.
That was a fun weekend.lol

Never would of imagined a 2 stroke better than a 4, mostly people have bad things to say about 2strokes, I would imagine a 4 is better because 1)bigger CC 2) there street legal 3) they can top out at 60-70 heavily modded 4)stock they get to 45-50mph while a stock 2stroke stock tops out at 25

stock mine topped out around 30 or 35 & they can be made faster... for pocketbikes the 50 2 smoke is the equivelent ofthe 110. 2 strokes are less maintenence and lighter. cheaper. changing oil in your pocket rocket is going to get tedious. That time could be spent beefing up a 2 stroke. 4 strokes have more engine parts..

4 strokes can be built for lowend or highend power... theyre cool. get whatever you want

Now if your comparing the China bikes then the 4 strokes rule all day long! The little 49cc weedeater motor cannot truly measure up to the 110cc 4strokes. If you do a mild mod 110cc 4stroke and do a all out mod on one of these 49cc weedeater 2stroke. I'd put my money on the 4stroke all day. My 110cc did 58mph with simple carb tuning gearing and exhaust.
My earlier post was about the more highend 2stroke motors. I choose the 4stroke mids over the 2stroke mids all day long. Tons of go fast parts for the 4stroke mids . To get a 2stroke mid to even get close to 50mph you'd have to do a complete motor swap and motor mounts.

mine gos around 40 w stock piston and pipe... pipe would help. i need a gps

racing has more to do w rider then just having a faster bike. yea most 4 strokes have clutches and are faster

Pros on 125 dirtbikes can pass 450s
Yes this is true with the more highend 2stroke motors. Now when your talking about the
Hina mids and there 2stroke weedeater motors. That's a whole other ball game and 40mph is pretty good i was more than likely hitting that on my 2stroke x7. But my friends bone stock 110cc x18 would still beat me a straight line. Even destroy my x7 if it was from a dead start. I had an airfilter and a custom pipe.
I even have me racing against my friend on his x18 on vid from a long time ago.
I'll go as far as to say this, if you do dollar for dollar worth of upgrades. To a 2stroke mid and then to the 4stroke mid. That 4stroke is gonna leave that 2stroke mid behind like yesterday. I like the 2stroke mids but as far as racing them against other bikes like the euro pocket bikes of ysr50's they are not fast enough.
