I have a Hot Wheels speedometer made by Bell. My problem is that the mph jumps around so I don't know how fast i'm really going. Sometimes it only says 1 or 0 mph. The magnet is maybe 2 cm from the sensor at most, and it's set to 0898.

Something to try...

SDR1DER,

Here are a couple things you should try if you haven't already done so.
1. It depends on how your magnet is mounted, but make sure the magnet is secure. Be sure it is not vibrating back and forth.

2. Run the wiring for the speedometer as far away from the the coil and kill switch wires as possible to eliminate any interference.

Hope this helps...

The wires are mounted on the left side away from the coil and shut off switch, and the magnet is attached to the rear sprocket with 3m double sided tape.

I have a Bell speedometer and it's crap. The thing keeps resetting and I only topped out a 22mph. When I'm in my car going 22mph I alot slower than my bike.
