Why Not, keep the head pipe to around 7 to 9" long, use about a 20 degree angle funnel to the expansion chamber maybe 2 3/4" OD, 5" long then off that 25 degree funnel down to 1/2" ID or OD pipe, 4 or 5" long and then thru a muffler, glass pack etc. The best part is, when you make your own you can bend & shape it around the engine, up or down, what ever it takes.
Ford or Chevy diesel truck pipe extension pieces work pretty good for the big belly part. Here is the Pro Jet Snail exhaust I had on my Boosted306 scooter engine.

But as soon as I get a mig welder (soon) I'll be building my own expansion chamber/pipe. :D

LOL, nice...

Yes, I got them on piston port engines with stock internals, but with external mods; velocity stack, fat pipe, lightened clutch.

On my setup, Co2 bottle, and a short fuel line, connected to the top section of the plastic intake manifold.

I drilled a hole a tad smaller than the nipple, placed a drop of Krazy Glue, once dry, JB weld the surrounding.

There is a thread where I posted pictures, sorry to say... search noob.

Ok, so not being a newbie to internet forums i've been searching and searching this site for some answers and keep coming up short.

1) Engine is apart. I want to know if I should window my piston on my piston ported engine.
2) I've drilled some holes in my clutch to lighten it up. Since it has good meat on it i'm going to use it still with the stock spring. ? is those thin little washers that were on the mounting bolts are all bent up. Should I replace them? I also cleaned all of the rust off and am going to polish the pivot surfaces as well as hit the drum with sandpaper to roughen it up some. Might sound like a dumb question, but has anyone used truck bedliner spray on the drum to get a rough surface? Does it sound feasible?
3) Not running a head gasket. What should I use to seal the surface that's easy to find locally? Like the local auto parts or Home Depot?

Sorry for the questions but it seems that almost every thread on this site gets off topic and i'm just reading a bunch of useless information that doesn't pertain to my questions at hand.

Thanks for all the help!

Do not port your piston, your carb bolts to the cyld intake port. On a reed port the hole is done to use the 1 to 3 upper cyld wall intake ports. The reed engine, gas & air go thru the carb, manifold, passed the reeds & by the crank and up all the ports. Them washers are spring loaded to keep pressure on the arms so they don't move outward. You get a single HP spring for your clutch online. At scooterparts4less has a kit with new clutch bolts and springs for around $4, if yours are rusted, there pretty cheap, I keep 2 sets here all the time, have 5 set of Cag racing springs too, lol.
You can use JB Weld, real thin layer, but I use a $9 tube of Yamabond from a Yamaha dealer, it works real good on all your intake gaskets to, that's what they use it for.

Thanks again bro! You said you're in MI, where abouts? I'm in Warren and wouldn't mind picking your brain (and maybe your parts bin ;) ;) ) if you're not too far and wouldn't mind throwing a little knowledge this way? :D

I live in Northern California close to the Russian River. Boosted306, Sam lives in Dearborn Mich. I think it is. Sent him alot of engines for him to put his reed port modified 3rd Stage Billet Head/Cyld B/B kits. I put FC cranks in mine before I shipped to him. Had him swirl bore/line bore and re-jet 2 of my 13mm Cag piston carbs to 14mm. Got a bunch of different hp ported stock one piece cyld/heads. My A1 has a Boosted 47cc Canted Head ported stock cyld on stock 10mm crank, his 14mm swirl bore carb w/ .70mm main jet, 44mm V-stack and hp foam air filter and a SS Pro Jet tuned exhaust and it screams. I am here alot so if you need help, call out. PS: Clocks go 1 hr forward Saturday, Yes, more daylight!!!

I use clear Vinyl tubing,,large C02 cartridge with 3/4" cut off the tip and an air chuck fitting...........You can definately see they work when built right...

The myth of matching 49cc bottles to 49cc engines and so on is a myth....An 83 YZ80 does not have an 80cc boost bottle on it.... it has a way bigger volume thats equal to 4 times the engine size...............
