Beginner Mechanic X1 and Cagllari Datona

Hello all my name is Harley i recently got super addicted to pocket bikes and after buying two used bikes for 100$ a piece i began small repairs on them, i am a beginner automotive mechanic and a certified computer repair specialist. Even though i have a good mentor and more broken vehicles than i would like to i am not very experienced with pocket bikes so i figured why not come to the best. My X-1 has it the worst between a missing headlight and the fact that all of my connectors are odd and the carb is leaking gas due to a blown seal a rusted to hell chain as well as slight rust (i plan on taking all rusted pieces to be sand blaster before i double coat it then put another protective layer) but i cannot invest in a bike i cannot get some use out of first, The Cagllari Daytona is far luckier than the X-1 it is only missing a chain and has this tube that has decided to leak a huge ammount of gas quickly, i am fully investing my time into these bikes and i would love any tips and know that between everyone in the community that this will be a easly identifiable fix even if i cant afford to at the time, thank you for your time.

pictures will have to follow tomorrow my upload is destroyed for some reason probably the **** roku oh how ever you spell it

The Cag, sadly with no chain and i knwo no one with one

My baby,The X-1

The Cluster**** on the X-1

The Leaks orgin on the Cag a tube that just chills there

(next post)
The X-1 was leaking from the gasket seal after sealing that it continued to leak , now the seal between the throttle and engine after the primer blub has a hole. The engine will not draw in any gas

I cant wait to sandblast and repaint these bad boys...well if they run if not then i am just saving up for a new x-7 in the comming months probably a christmas gift but i would love to get these working , i am hoping this will be a cheap project i have almost no money to put into these but i am working on them everyday the cag only needs a chain and some locktite before it can be taken on a test run

First off you have an X2.............Its not as bad as it seems but i will say its better to strip the bike of all lighting and e-starter/battery and pullstarting it like a regular weedeater or backpack blower........

Theres ways to pimp them out with a total loss system,,,the engine has plenty of mod potential...lately Ive been dropping mod tips all over this forum on different threads...And that CVT has ways to give the bike better bottomend takeoff performance aswell............

The other bike..The half fairing cag has potential aswell...things have to be disassembled and blueprinted for proper fitment then they work as intended..............The best mod for that bike would be a hp pumper carb retrofit kit or DIY taperport and rejet the stocker,,DIY lightened flywheel,,rocket key,,DIY modded clutch,,hp clutch springs,,NGK sparkplug BM6A gapped to .030" and upgrade the stock sparkwire to a high voltage silicone suppression wire from an automobile set

i build most of my speed on a budget which is basically the best way...I also know how to get the most out of the stock stuff to save money while getting maximum fun.........That X2 carb can be rebuilt with a rebuild kit for a Walbro WYK series 15mm carb..........The rebuild kit is under 10 bux shipped from ebay.....

I see that may be why we have been having problems matching up parts for the X-2 , i planned on installing a rocket key on both, the main problem the x-2 wont start it is leaking gas like a mad man from the carb and the tank , the x-2 sparks it starts for a good second or two and evrything electrical is completly disconnected i cant even find the connectors for any of my turn signals etc also we have been using the pullstart unless fuel is injected into the engine we cant even start it, i cannot have any ebay parts shipped or have my name invloved since my mother got my information banned when i was 13 and im pretty much working on this by myself, i mean im th eonly one spending moeny, i hope that there isnt too much more to fix besides the choke being plastic and breaking off
Nice x2 bro! I have the same bike
Nice x2 bro! I have the same bike
Thanks! what can i say i love them both for 200$ i just want to ride her so bad, i dont like watching my leather jacket collecting dust. I will post more pics as it is restored more. asap

Strip the bike of all wiring...I gained a loss of 12 lbs by removing the gauges,,switches,,battery,,wiring and gutting the e-starter/generator on my X1,,,after full mods I took a bone stock 26mph X1 and made it cruise a tick over 40mph..........The starter pushbutton doubles as a killswitch when hooked to the two wires coming from the coil........

My Homemade stand-up scooter has a powerplant from an X2 but the engine is highly modded and so is the CVT transmission

If the carb is leaking badly its gonna need a rebuild kit..you can buy a cheap chinese carb on ebay too but the insides will still have that same crappy inferior internals...once you throw a real walbro kit in there and port the carb inlet and outlet youll gain alot of performance by turning that carb into a performance carb

this thread is slowly turning into my bible lol thank you for the tips those are the exact results in looking for, as for the cag does anyone know a common place to pick them up since im banned from ebay
See if you can find a supplier that will take a USPS money order, order your parts and send the money order. PBParts in Florida has a phone.
and one thing i dont get is why the cag wasnt leaking and now it is, but the plug on the gas tank of the x-2 needs to be replaced unless i want to lose gas when im over a tank and a half

should i be careful with sites like scooterparts4less.com? im not really going to rage over a 10$ price diffrence i just need a place that i suppose isnt going to just send me whaever they feel like
and the carb seems to be leaking due to the busted seal but even with a new one it still leaks, oh well i was hoping to get these running when i bought them. now i know better lol

The carb needs to be removed,,,

The petcock mod should be done,,

The carb needs to be totally cleaned inside,,

The float forks must be set right

The float needs to be installed right...The hump in the float goes to the bottom of the floatbowl....

I go the extra step and sand the mainjet casting and polish iy so the float rides up n down smoothly

Once you take the time to make them work right they work pretty descently but alls ill say is get used to the gas on the floor unless you upgrade to a retrofit hp pumper carb setup...........

On the carb on the x2 thats been replaced and is leaking again......

Are you sure the 2 fuellines arent cracked and are tightly fit onto their right nipples?

Did you drain the tank and use a fresh premix of 40:1 premium fuel?

Try tapping the side of the carb to jar the pumper needle in the carb that maybe hung up and stuck a lil.........Good Luck

yes the fuel lines are fine its the seal on the carb so i am just going to buy a new unit, both of them were drained when i purchased them and the onwner as well a others told me to use unleaded 50:1 which is what both of them have in the tank , i will get on the mods as soon as i can get someone that knowledgeable to help since im not exactly the best mechanic yet or anywhere near, thank you i will memorize all of whats here and post the results very soon

I gutted my e-starter and cut the 10ga red wire from the starter housing..,,The rest just unscrewed and unclipped

Heres a thread showing how I removed the e-starter..........

thanks , well i scrapped everything and put a hedge trimmer carb on there she is trying so hard to start but its smoking we believe its the bearings inside the engine burning up since the sprocket will turn just not the internals, working on that next but i have no engine bearings at all

4:54PM well pretty sure the bearings are blown out but i cant crack the casing on the engine yet, the cag is currently in stock perfection, i cant wait to apply those modifications
i see alot of users with 50:1 unleaded so i followed that route, about stuffing the muffler with steal wool what should i use? #3?

Remove the transmission from the engine..Youll most likely find a delaminated clutch pad or busted spring........
