The red top or alum alloy top engines are custom, a cut stock cylinder cut w/ a hacksaw up against the udder side of the fifth fin and machined on top the cylinder to fit the Cag head. There are some posts on the back pages for that engine. Cam2 made one before me. I did mine with mostly hand tools, and 8" bench grinder and files & sandpaper. It took alot of work, but it was worth it in the end.
If you find Boosted306 here, he has ported & modded 49cc piston port cylinders that come w/ a new set of rings for $60 shipped, if you piston is good you can polish it and the boosted cyl. I have one on my 49cc scooter, w/ an 813 Walbro and a Pro Jet exhaust it trys to pop wheels on the start.

Youre in for a whole new world especially if you go the extra step and fill the case with a full circle crank and raceport the case.....Its not easy but it can be done...........

As far as the head caps Ive come to find the cheapest cap alone is almost 30 bucks shipped and the FCC a bit more combined its the same price as a $69 free shipped stage 2 headkit from BigMotorSport....You can always sell off the barrel, piston and pin to offset the cost of a new 49cc piston for the cateye engine if needed but can still use the rings if the piston is good

Chopping the top isnt easy either,,care must be taken not to go too low..if you count how many headfins EPR has left you can get an idea where to start chopping and if you do Id cut right under the fin above the top fin you see on the head below...

You must make sure you dont step-cut the top or cause any severe gouges or youll have a problem with sealing.A superfine tooth hacksaw blade helps out alot in that area.....

On my 2 pc piston ported engine I didnt use a copper gasket..I lapped the cap to the head with grinding paste and sealed it down with Permatex #3

Youre gonna have to lighten the flywheel,,mod the clutch,,add a rocket key and regear it to around 12-13:1 drive ratio by getting a larger rear sprocket and a smaller trans box sprocket.........You will lose topend speeds and you will also do alot of harm to them crappy springer forks...They are only held together by a single thin M6 chinese screw

another way is getting a semi auto 4 speed 70cc engine and punching it gto 88cc's...youll wheelie every gear.....
