bike not accelerating

hello, i have a 49cc pocket bike with an after-market pipe and reeds given to me by a friend and for some reason it does not want to accelerate, you have to slowly open the throttle while your moving or else it bogs out, i did clean the carb and I'm still playing around with the needles, i noticed that it accelerate better when i unscrew the low needle but the bike is already running rich, like there is a LOT of smoke coming out of the pipe. now i never own a pocket bike before so i don't know if this is normal or not but some help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

you have to use your choke lever. start closed and open it up slowly as the bike warms up:thumbsup:
Maybe theres just too much oil in your gas? oil doesnt burn as readily as gas does, if you over do it it will be a slug.... I would try starting with a fresh tank of gas, mixed per the manufacturers spec on mix....
yes that was my guess too, i will try a fresh new tank with the right amount of oil, i used gas for my garden tools like weed wacker and lawnmower and they need more oil. but i don't know what oil mix i should use, i don't have a manual, what oil mix do you use?

thanks
Sorry, cant help ya with that...i ride a 4 stroke bike....LOL

For safety you can go 40:1...For a bit more pep 42:1 and 50:1 for performance........
ok thank you
No problem,,,dont forget to use a fuel with an octane rating of 91 the least.............88 and 87 octanes just dont produce good power in these small engines............Good Luck
what type of oil do i use, just regular 2 stroke?

I use a few brands and types,,,a good synthetic with fuel stabilizer built-in would be the best 2 smoke oil to use............Stihl HP synthetic 2 smoke oil is pretty good.........
