blata watercooled kart

ok so im thinking about building a race kart from scratch. using a blata clone engine, not really not trying to be fast just trying to be decent. im thinking a great pipe, flat top piston kit, 19mm carby and a timing advance will send this thing drifting. the only thing that got me stumped is can you run a diaphram fuel pump on a 2 stroke?

Of course you can....................Check out Jaloos' thread on how he made a pumper carb manifold for his a/c blata clone engine....

to get it drifting nicely you'll nered to set the clutch to engage around 11-12,000 rpms

whats up with the dual carb?

It's a 72cc cut down Mitsu/Zen cylinder w/ a 3 stage Cag Billet Head Kit on Cag engine cases. The ADA 4 reed boxes and 15mm WYK Walbro manifold fit the Cag engine. He added the 4 reed box to the piston port cyld mount too but had to mod the box to fit it. Cam2s have been modded to fit the 16mm WT-603 carb.
He may just run a carb alone on top and restricter plates if needed.
I have 2 of them boxes and have bored the 15mm manifold to 19mm and moved the pulse hole to match & put 19mm Walbro HDA 48D pulse carbs on them and mounted them on the twin engine drag bike 3rd stage engines. I have a Zen/Cag Alloy head engine I made, and I modded a 20mm GRT40 Billet purge manifold to fit the intake port using 4 bolt mount and mounted a 19mm HDA 223, purge carb w/ primer bulb.

Same deal as these engines I have............When you run a high-grade fuel you gotta double up the mix to make the power sing......I havent had time to test it out yet but its gonna be so powerful I may break pinions and have to resort on a scooter transmission

Go Cam2, it's going to be hard on pinion gears for sure. Once you get the bugs worked out, it should Scream.
im thhinking abbout doing that to my existing pocket quad! cam2's engine looks brutal!
@cam2 you must pm me with anything/everything regarding that twin carb engine! i got a spare full fairing cag frame>:D

Its a CRG Kart w/Komet IAME 137cc twin carbbed methanol huffer pushing almost 50hp and spins 20k.Top speed is 133mph...The engine on it has a 200-250 minute service life before having to be totally rebuilt....Anytime after the 250 service mins is riding on borrowed time and a good chance to be picking metal out of my body if the engine grenades.....I have two of these Karts...Ones in real rough shape from where it was being storaged which was an old van converted into a storage shed that the roof vent got damaged not knowingly and the elements took its toll on it and rusted it up badly..The damaged kart was one of my brothers who passed away 15 years ago...One of these days Ill restore it back to the condition of mine..

heres a shot of the fully adjustable and pretty expensive axle clutch....This thing will really give you bad whiplash if youre not wearing a collar

Yeah its pretty fast but its awfully quick..If I regeared it for topend itll hit 150mph..The g-forces it belts out from a dead standstill are greater than most Hotrods/racecars Ive owned and driven..The clutch is set to grab at 8K and it doesnt gradually slip as it grabs either,,its got instant grip when brought-up to the pre-set rpm's......back when I raced the race heats were 10 mins long which meant 1 engine was good for 20-25 heats...The Racing circuit back then was Four 10 minute heats a race......Now I just take it out on occaision for blasters...The day of this vid I wrecked it pretty badly...If I dont say anything youd never know but I bent the frontend ,, bent the left and rightside pontoons,,ripped off a fueline on the rear carb and busted the seatpan...I went into a nice sweeping turn that said 20mph at about 80-85 and lost it on some loose gravel spun around 3 times and landed up on a lawn.Good thing the curb was a low one and angled.....The tires were barely warmed up.LOL

Nah..That vid was taken after I wrecked it.Even though it looks pretty good it was pretty badly bent requiring it to be straightened out via laser..I had to call the house on my cell to get picked up by my truck...All the racing vids I have from the 80's were on VHS except for a few blaster vids I had on my computer that crashed causing me to lose 13gigs of pics and vids combined....Ive come to find out recently that VHS tapes dont keep too well in attics....When I tried to get some converted to disc the guy said they were too warped to get a good recording and said no matter the quality its still gonna cost me in time so I just gave up on the idea..........

Thats funny...My 600 Gixxerkart went as fast as 155 with 15/19 gearing.......LOL.It was so intense it wanted to take flight,,,everytime the front lifted at WOT I had to raise my right foot and plant my left...LOL..I wish I never sold it but after I busted my neck on the Blata I thought my playdays were over.........LOL

My Willies Gocart was pretty intense too..

It was mean and was pretty heavy too.......Its got 4 fuel Injectors..........LOL.....It was a fuel injected 2003 model bike the engine came off of.You can see the fuel rail run behind all 4.......The throttle response and power was juiced-up with a power programmer

The Willies was pretty cool..it whipped donuts like madd and handled snow covered streets sweetly....

Awww.. That sucks.. Did you save the tapes so maybe you can swith the insides with new cases or just gave up and threw them out.. Sure they would be fun to watch.. Especially for you! Had a tenant in the building I manage do it do a few tapes he really wanted to see... Dirty man.. lol But it can be done with a little time.. But I'm sure you know this... Thanks again for sharing.. That thing really looks fast!!

I kept them.....One of these days Ill find someone into doing IT type stuff and hit them with a challenge.......the guy wanted $2700.00 to convert 140 video tapes which is roughly $20 each ..To try and repair them would of been $40 bux each.........
