I'm looking to remove any unnecessary wiring from my bike. I don't use the electric starter since it isn't working.
I'm also wondering if the ignition needs to be on in order for the bike to run?
Is the battery necessary?
Is the electrical controller necessary?

Thanks

Rip everything off and take the two wire plug from the throttle and hook it into the two wiore plug coming from the coil/fancase to make a killswitch...

The engines start up like a conventional weedeater,,prime,,choke,,pull...

I have no extra wiring except killswitch on all my scooters,,X1's,,mini harleys anymore,,all has been stripped to lose unwanted weight and gain a lil extra performance aswell as ease of startup.............

heres a thread I made outlining the e-starter removal or perf mod process....Good Luck

I took the whole electric housing off my 49cc scooter engine, had to mod the back side of the starter Paw with a taper to get it back far enough on the tapered crank end to get the pull start housing on. The Red Head engine has a stock cylinder cut off 5 fins down and modded to fit a Cag alloy head. Got the idea from Cam2, he has one too. On my scooter I got a 49cc ported head from Boosted306 for $60 comes w/ a new set of rings.

My E-starter is different. Is there anything i can do with it.
Are there any performance part websites for cateyes that actually have parts that are higher tier?

Same removal process.. Screw that 2" M8 Screw/bolt in the center like it decribes in Cam2's link.. It will pop out!

There are but I highly doubt youd want to deal with them and theyre awfully overpriced....I myself will never ever again.....................Youre putting too much stock in a POS chinese inconsistently manufactured pocketbike..You want quality get a Euro bike like a B1 Immortal

Like Nipples stated the starter is slightly different but still the same.............
There is a wire that runs from the ignition coil to the controller unit. Is that needed for start up or is that for the e-starter?
When removing the e-starter, do you just continue to screw in the bolt until the casing w/ the starter falls off?
What are some mods that i could do myself other than weight reduction and removing the e-starter?
What did you guys do with the metal post when the bottom fairing and mud guards? Did you just grind them off?

re-read the top line.
Oh ok i thought you meant the kill switch wires to the plugin it was originally with which runs through the backbone wiring. I got it now.

Thanks
So i removed all the wiring except for the kill switch. There is just one wire connector that is coming out of the rear brake handle. Is there a way to remove it or should i just snip it off?

Thanks.

My X18 has a wire off the right brake handle and the clutch handle on the left, it stops electricty from going to the starter motor. Not sure how yours works. The small wire or wires off the coil, I believe one goes to the kill switch and one to your key if you have one. They only ground the coil so the engine stops.

Thanks both of you, you both have been great help.
On my scooter I ordered a new piston port 49cc engine and it did not have a 44mm bore, it was 42.7mm , think Cam2 said that is 46+ cc. So, I got a ported Head/Cyld from Boosted306 or Power By Sam I call it. It was an electric start. Some just take the guts out and leave the housing there. I was not happy with that and it's just more weight so I took the housing off too, but the starter paw stuck out to far, so I had to taper the back side to fit on the crank end far enough to get the pullstart back on, but it worked out great. Rip all the stuff you don't need off, it's just extra weight, lol, lol.
