my lil west racing replica has lost spark after not even a tank of gas through it.

What is common problem ? How critical is the gap on stator and what should it be?

I eliminated kill swith and key ign as potential problems.

Any help apreciated ...

If its brand-brand new contact the seller and have them send ya a new coil............

Check to make sure the magnets still have a strong pull...The gap between the coil and the flywheel is .020"

cheers mate. Think i might have let it gather dust for too long to get seller to cough up. Are the coils crap in general ? Is there better one available ?

Everything chinese built is a crapshoot....I got alot of coils that ran good one minute then all of a sudden wouldnt start til i replaced the coil....Only thing is I got 15 coils for the reeded and piston ported engines for $1.75 each..........

Theres the Inferno coil but its almost a hundred bux,,,,,,,,,,f ya contact Daves Discount Motors they may be able to tell you the brand theu carried aswell and see if you can locate some of those ignition systems....theres also the MSD kicker CDI ignition thats being phased out aswell

ok, i don't mind spending 100 over going through heap of crap ones, i do plan to work this engine with norm F/C crank, pipe etc . But @ end of the day, it's not rocket science so to the wreckers i go. Let you know what i find. Any of the blata's etc adaptable?
