Hello

Not sure if this is normal or not.

When I give my bike the throttle, the clutch does not engage until the the throttle is about 3/4 full.

Does anyone know if this is correct or when the clutch should engage?

Thank you

Its a racebike and the clutch should engage around 8k rpm's.....

If you dont have an RPM gauge its gonna be hard to figure out....I use a TrailTech TTO..........

Chances are youre gonna need a new clutch...remove the clutchbell housing and take a peek......

Good Luck

Thanks for the info

I have never never taken the clutch apart.

What would I be looking for?

Youre only removing the clutchbell housing to do the inspection. Its easy..

You'd be looking for clutchpads that are burnt or too thin past its effectivity, rusted and highly oxidzed looking parts, glazed clutchdrum,,also check that the clutchbell drum bearing rolls smoothly......

If all looks well try roughening up the clutchpads plus deglazing the clutchdrum with 100 grit sandpaper then try backing off on the 3 adjustment nuts a half a turn each or whats also referred to as "3 flats of the nut" then retry.

Good Luck

Hello

Thanks again for your help.

I have taken the clutch out, springs are rusted so I have ordered a new one.

In looking at the bell housing it does not turn freely. I am looking to replace but this one is held on by 3 screws and everything online I see to purchase is 4 screws only, any ideas?

Thanks

Heres a link to what youre looking for............…

Just so you know your bike is known as a MT-A4 39cc watercooled C1/B1 Blata replica....

It helps a lot in finding parts when you know the technical name........

It maybe a lot cheaper to buy a new bearing and replace it depending on whether or not you own an 18v impact gun and a gator grip socket to remove the pinion without damaging it...…

Good Luck

I have seen them for $20, I have three, 6, 7 and 8 tooth. I would get a 7 tooth pinion one, search eBay, 39cc 2 stroke C1 water cooled pocket bike parts. You can change the rear sprocket teeth 55 to 78 teeth also.
