Found this discussion on old thread, so a quick follow up to clarify. MrKitty said "If it bogs down wants to die at wide open throttle then it's setup too lean and the needle needs to be raised up"

I am having this problem on my Mototec Demon, but only randomly. So do you mean adjust the needle that is operated by the tange, or is the main jet you're talking about? Or do you mean the idle adjustment screw/needle? I am at altitude so I have the main jet tuned as lean as possible.

Could this also be a vacuum issue??

cheers

I think Mr.Kitty was referring the the needle that slides in and out of the main jet when you operate the throttle (up & down)

Usually adjusting that only single needle up by 1 or 2 does the trick.

Going down will make it more lean and less fuel enters while WOT which could starve the engine and cause it to bog or die.

Also if you have an air screw to adjust you can screw it all the way in so less air comes in and more fuel enters as a result. (Richer)

Fine tuning a carburetor is like a dance you have to learn over time. Trial and error no dance is the same.

Higher altitude?
Jet down by 2 or 4
Needle high
Air screw almost shut. Allow some air to enter.

I'm in Colorado lol
