hi was just wondering if anyone could help

iv just purchased my first pocket bike (second hand) and im havin a problem with the engine tickin over when the bike is stationary.

at present the engine will only run if the bike is moving, as soon as the bike comes to a standstill so does the engine.

any points in the right direction would be appreciated

thanks

It sounds to me like your clutch might be causing the problems, lift the rear tire in the air, slowly pull the pull start, does the rear wheel spin? if it does, or even if it spins only with the engine running, but spins the rear wheel at low rpm's, I would check the clutch first.

like NaSa said, also you could check the little silver scre above the idle and see ifputing that in to allow a little throttle when you start is enough that the low rpms wont move the bike... thats what id do.
