Frustrated Father.....

Good Morning Everyone....
OK....so we are relatively new to this forum but not new to these vehicles. I have purchased a Cobra S4 for my son and CAG as well.....he is 5.

I purchased a new "Big Bore" motor for the S4 and when removing the old one I noticed that the throttle cable did not come out so easy. Have many frustrating hours i ended up breaking the throttle cable. I have a new one coming in the mail....should arrive in a couple of days, but i do not want to make anymore mistakes and i want this thing to run again so my son can enjoy it.

How do I replace the new throttle, any other tips on completing the engine install?

Any and all info is greatly appreciated as this is the first time I am doing this mod. Thanks ahead of time.

Welcome to the Planet....Sounds like your getting acquainted with shoddy chinese craftsmanship......Hooking up a throttle cable is pretty easy

Blueprinting the new BBK will save you tons of headaches....

First things I would do is lube all the cables with a cable lubing tool...if no tool is available then removing the cables and coiling them up in a pan of oil will work pretty good....

Upgrading the carb to a no-nonsense easy to tune-in pumper carb retrofit kit.

Upgrading the stock sparkwire to a better quality automotive high voltage sparkwire

upgrading the crappy pullstarter to an all aluminum one

doing the flywheel mod

adding a rocket key

lightening and modding the clutches

adding hp clutchsprings

modding the stock head with a 3rd port

porting the exhaust port

modding the reedplate and reedstopper aswell as adding a composite reedset

get a jetpro exhaust

Anything that can be done to a cag engine could be done to an S4 cobgra chinese quad...theyre the same engines just diff frames....Good Luck

Cam you belong in the PocketBikePlanet hall of fame for your support
Thanks for all of the information. I hope to be receiving the new cable this week and hopefully have this machine back and running.
There is a little plate on the front of the throttle unit, unscrew it or pop it out to get to the handle bar end of the cable on the throttle grip.

No problem....If youre gonna stick with the shoddy build-up you should atleast upgrade the fuel delivery to 1/4" fuellines and fuelfilter,,hp sparkplug wire,,NGK plug #BM6A gapped to .030" and doing the petcock mod.....Those simple things are things the chinese should of did but opted not to....Good Luck

Another well needed product when dealing with these bikes....

Is there a website where I can get all of these parts that you are recommending....I don't want to put too much into this machine....I just want him to use it for a couple of years and then get a Polaris or Honda 90.
