Hope everyone is well, haven't been on here for 2 years! I had a username on here(snuffles) but seemed to have forgotten my password:eek:. Reason why i stopped working on my cateye or x7 or whatever it is was because i became a dad for the first time so my time is consumed with working and diaper changing haha.

So back to my cateye, put it away in storage for 2 years and now i'm having trouble getting it to run. Actually i'm having trouble getting it to turn on period lol. So i've been doing a lot of reading for the past 3 months on this forum without signing in and decided to follow some of ya'lls ideas and clean out the carb to see if maybe that was the problem. Turns out it still wont turn on, so i tried some tuning and messing around with the screws on the carb and still no luck. By the way, my bike does have a key in the ignition but the battery is unhooked from the wires and i dont have a charger so i use the pull start method. If anyone knows how to jump start a cateye i'd greatly appreciate the info:). Or maybe i'm just not using the correct steps to turn it on? I'm not very good with carburetors so maybe i didn't clean it right? I took pictures of my cleaning process so i'll post them up as soon as i can. Another issue i found while trying to turn on my bike is that it's leaking fuel from the top of the gas tank where the fule lines come out of, would jbweld or anything work to fix that problem or do i need a new gas tank? Also, i used a 32:1 2-stroke oil mix with the gas. Hopefully you guys can help me get my bike back up and running, thanks.

Yes it was very dirty haha, but i did clean as much as a could except for one of the black seals i tried peeling it off but it wanted to tear so i left it alone. Then after spraying everything with carb cleaner I put everything back together. Still the bike doesn't start, any help?

One more thing guys, after i took the plastics off the bike i noticed these two wires were just lose and didn't connect anywhere. Can anyone tell me where these two wires go connected to, maybe they're the reason why my bike doesn't start with the battery/key/ignition.

They're red and black wires stuck together coming from the top/middle of the bike just underneath where the seat goes.

when i pulled the wire it leads to this lil white plastic adapter that turns the black and red wires to blue and red wires:

Please dont mind the other white plastic adapter next to it, it connects to the taillights which i removed earlier. Can anyone help me find out where the black and red wires go? Thanks in advance.

Those two wires are for the charger port....Looks like someone hardwired the charger wires to recharge the battery.................

Thanks EPR, by the way i got my bike to start finally with the new/rebuilt carb I bought from ebay. Now its just a matter of slowly rebuilding the bike, does anyone know what type of bolts the exaust uses to connect to the motor? my exaust is lose/dangling, no bolts at all.

EPR, There is a cable that's lose(posted a picture of it in a previous post on this thread) that has two wires(red/black). CAM2 told me it goes to the charger port but the charger port only has one wire missing and these are two wires inside one cable. Also the yellow button on the right handle has no wire going out so I was wondering which wire led to that? This is so confusing.

Quick update on my bike. Installed new/rebuilt carb I bought on ebay and it started on the second pull. Now it starts on the first pull. Took it outside for a short ride (since it's extremely loud and my neighbor has the attitude of the grinch on his rag) and the bike ran great even though I have yet to mess around with tuning the carb and a lot of work needs to be done still. The following is my "to do" list with my cateye:

In no particular order:

1. buy/install new fuel lines(mine aren't tight enough at the nippIes of the carb) maybe even a new gas tank since mine leaks where the fuel lines exit the tank.

2. Find/buy bolts/screws for my exaust where it attaches to the back of the motor.

3. Install new spark plug, it just might help it run a little faster.

4. Try to figure out where the lose wires go connected to, also maybe a new battery but I dont think I really need it since it starts on the first pull.

5. Try to make the wheels spin freely, they're kinda slow to spin by hand. I dont know if that's how they're supposed to be or maybe a little oil will help them spin better.

6. Put air in the tires and hope the air stays in the tires.

7. Clean/Paint as many parts as I possibly can on my bike.

8. Find the fuse that goes in the charger port, my fuse is blown.

9. Make a video of my finished product and post it on here.

On the older engines the exhaust bolts should be 6mm, M6 x 1.0 x how long you need in mm.
Thanks EPR and yes they are 6mm botls, got them a while ago. My black fuel line was leaking where it connects to the carb so I cut about half an inch off it and tried connecting it again but no luck, is there an alternative line I can use/buy somewhere without having to order from ebay? I don't wanna wait a week to have it delivered.
