Hi all, as title suggest, into pb's but much prefer the mid/ super pb . Not much support for them down here, I guess the mini motard & smaller pb's may see them as a threat ??

Anyway, come over to talk here as it's getting rather lonely down here.

My build/bike currently in progress is based off x1 . I've had trouble finding a decent mid here so have started from scratch ordering part on line from overseas, big shout out to pocketbikeparts.com & pb's unlimited.

Engine wise I have dropped a modded yamaha yz80 in. Reverse barrel, custom pipe, 36mm pumper carb set up you would see on a shifterkart. I've also used a kart master cylinder and billet alloy kart brake pedal on it's side for the rear. Works well and looks trick.

X1 plastics, x 18 rims & forks. Longer swinnarm. Mounted radiator in front of triple clamps behind where head lights would be. Headlights moulds are now radiator cooling ducts , this turned out even tricker than the kart brake.

Plan to add a " redbull rookie cup" livery to it . Will start posting pics when I figure out how.

Until then, peace out...... Axle.

P.s.. can anyone direct me to a 10 inch PMT slick seller ? . Also where can I find speed load ratings for pmt 10, slick? I maybe pushing it here with this bike.

Welcome to the forum and your project sounds killer...........post up pics when you can....as far as 10" PMT slicks...Thats gonna be a small witchhunt if seraching under pocketbike/superbike.....You might want to try and find a Maxxis slick
Cheers mate,

What's the situation with pmt? ( like I could say that to my girlfriend ) just bad distribution etc ?

Which led me to next question, what is then most popular 10' race tire overthere ?

I am also thinking off ****ing off the wider stock X18 rear rim for a front rim with a wider tyre . The wider looks better but I think with the stock tyre and it's low profile it's going to make it unsettle too much on a quick lean direction change. Do you guys run the 130mm rear ?

Pocketbike racing has lost its popularity and because of that theyve been forced to pursue other venues......

Maxxis racing slicks are what most who race superbikes seriously use around here........

Theres Heidenau,,Michelin,,Kenda...They all make 10" scooter racing slicks..............Scooter racing is still pretty much proactive therefore us owners of superbikes need to adjust and outsource our parts from other models..........especially tires!

heres PMT scooter racing slick page......

I can tell ur bikes gonna be a monster! Can't wait for pics of the finished product
I recommend the Sava 10" racing slicks. http://www.tsunamibike.com/page/page/4291391.htm

They have much better toe in ability than the PMTs, and have slightly harder gum, so you can make them last a bit longer.... which is always nice if you're going to be paying 150 bucks a set.
thanks cag.

I've got a lot of experience with the model yz80's I used from superkarting.

We really took these things above and beyond required limitations & they quite a good bullet proof cheap to run engine. The backward barrel and out rear exhuast & pumper carb come from karting . As does the low 1st & 2nd gears. will post pic asap.

Cam,
Thanks for reply. maxxis is the go then. That's cool cause I used them on kart and have a dealer.
