hello people!
I've got an 50cc kids quad ( Eton replica)
its got an oil injector, but im not sure if I want to use it!
i don't know if it still works and dont want to find out if it doesn't.
the quad has a 70cc kit, ported exhaust, high performance exhaust, high performance pod air filter, high performance cdi, rejetted/ tuned carb, and that's about all thats done to the motor.

here are the options for the poll:
1: stick with the oil injector ( shame on you if you choose this ;) )
2: premix 32:1
3: premix 40:1
4: premix 50:1

Remove the whole oil injector pump...It acts as a governor....Make a blockoff plate out of brushed aluminum.Thats what I did on my PW80.....Since the oil injector is most likely preset to deliver 32:1 mix Id still go 40:1 synthetic pre-mix..
i dont have any brushed aluminum but i do have steel sheet metal and can make a gasket easily.
i was thinkin of going 32:1 for the brake in and whatever the poll suggested after that. 40:1 was more of what I was thinking too.

still try to use some brushed aluminum. Try to find out if there is a machine shop close to you, they'll have some you can buy. Yeah 32;1 for break in sounds about right.
honestly i spent more money on this than what was in my budget already, so i just had to use steel and a gasket.
it was such a small hole it should work great.
im using 32:1 for bake in and is almost completely broken in.
it runs really good!
Good to see you got it working!
WOW!
well i just finshed making the expansion chamber in the exhaust. put it all together and tested it out.
this thing now has a power band!
it revs up like normal, then it his this power band that is VERY distinctive! before I moved the pipe it would not scream like it does now! im getting 2-3000 extra rpm!

im SURE stock it would not have a powerband like this!
besides the expansion chamber the exhaust has 5 more holes drilled in the muffler and that helps a tun too!
:)

Its good to hear..The extra revs are a culmination of the oil injector pump removal,,topend kit and the muffler mod.....My PW80 went a whole 26mph and was as lame as a 3 legged dog...After 1mm overbore kit,,oil injector pump removal,,porting and exhaust mod it was running almost as quick off the line as my 83 YZ80........If it had a 6speed manual gearbox instead of a 3 speed semi-auto Im sure I would of been beating the YZ no problem......

Keep up the good work.......
the jetting is perfect except on the high end, it needs more gas so i just ordered 3 more jets.
stock its size 82, so i bought an 85, 88, and 90 for fine tuning.
paid $14 for them shipped.
the only thing that's left is painting but i have a xs650 that must be painted first.
What's up peeps I'm new to the site. I recently bought an eton viper 70 2-stroke for my daughter. I have been learning a lot from this forum and just had 1 ? Does anyone know where I can purchase an aftermarket exhaust for the quad or one that is compatible. Thanks. Oh and after reading this my #1 priority is removing oil injection System.

Thanks a lot. I'm currently in the process of removing oil injection system. Do I remove the actual pump or do I leave it ??? Thanks again.

On my PW80 I removed it altogether and made a flat aluminum blockoff plate for it and RTV'd it in place...The oil injection system doubles as the engine governor too...........
Thanks cam2. I removed oil pump, hoses, oil tank. Just gotta find metal to cover hole. I also just ordered a single pull throttle cable for it also. Sorry but what does RTV stand for ??. Also I read that you should remove flywheel and stator to disconnect the nylon gear that is behind there any thoughts ???.

RTV is silicone...........The nylon gear isnt important as theres nothing its driving anymore since removing the pump....
Oh ok lol makes sense I kinda figured it was something like that thanks. So I been thinking about ordering a performance ignition coil along with performance Cdi. I do have 1 ?. What is an expansion chamber in reference to an exhaust system ??. Only asking cuz after I replace tires i think I'm going to put an exhaust on it.

The stock exhaust is basically this long pipe with a mufflerish looking end on it....It just delivers a broad flat torque output..

Thats commonly known as an inferior pipe because its devoid of an expansion chamber...

The expansion chamber helps coax more power out of a 2 stroke engine when its properly designed for the overall build-up of your engine...........

Most of those etons come 50cc and if yours is 50cc with a 70cc kit this page may help inmaking your eton a bit faster.......

I appreciate that but the quad is a RXL 70. I wasn't going to do any motor work. Maybe a bigger carb idk but thanks again man. I'll post pics when I finish her up.
CAM2 I have been looking for an upgraded carb for my RXL 70. I can't seem to find anything that will fit. Could you possibly point me in rite direction ?? I hear that the keihin is good but everyone of those I've found has this weird mounting bracket built on it.
