Help - where do I start with my razor mx 350?

I might be in over my head here, but can someone point me to where I can start learning all that's possible in modifying a razor mx 350 for my 9 yr. old son? ie. if I want a faster motor, what I would need to make that happen? thanks!

Is that that tiny electric one?? Buy as big of motor and battery as you can.. Dont know much about those but hope you have modding for the boy!!
