Hi all. I just recently brought a x22 bike and i never owned a pocket bike before so does anyone have any tips or mods that should be done to keep it reliable. I have a problem right now. The auto transmission seems to be on gear 1 and doesn't change. It pulls me back the min i let go the bike so does anyone know how to fix it?

Also to change the CDI unit. can i just get a racing CDI and plug it in?
and If i was gonna change the standard Battery. can i just get a good quality one and put it on? I need to change the lights to high beam and indicator lights as well. I have it registered on the road. so needs stronger lights to let people see.

any helps would be appreciated. I have done some research but to be honest i can't find much info about x22.

cheers

I don't think it changes gears, I have a 110cc X18 4 speed and an 125cc ATV with auto trans and one forward and one reverse gear.
Your engine is probably a 110cc ( 107cc ) Honda clone engine made in China. The blue finned CDI w/ the 5 pin plug, fits the stock plugs and slip right into the rubber CDI holder if it has not broken yet, I had to duck tape mine back together today after I put the HP Coil, lol, my 110cc dirt bike, X18 and 125cc ATV all have the same stock CDI.
On eBay there are some great deals, $10 racing CDIs air mailed from China, seen them for as much as $40, so prices vary alot. Got 2 oil coolers and addaptors to mount the hoses to the head.
To go faster you need a 22mm $30 carb, blue CDI, HP coil, replace or mod your exhaust. I got an HP X12 side pipe for $69 a pocketbikeparts in Florida, and put it on my half bodied X18.

Full auto bikes dont have gears...its just twist n go............Do a test on the stator with a multimeter...90% of all x22 troubles are bad/faulty stators............My good advice would be to get it running and sell that deathtrap then get an X15/18 or 19
Wow is it really that powerful? Didn't think a 110cc was like that
by the way. when i ride 20lm/h it ride comfortably. but when i drive 30jm/k or faster it feels bike is shaking and chain going to break. what could be the problem?
You need to look over everything on the bike. It's made in China by children and senior citizen, lol. Make sure your engine to frame bolts are tight or the engine will move around and vibrate, the engine is part of the frame. A bent rim or out of round tire. Chain too tight. Brakes dragging, things like that.
I have an x22 I'm thinking about fixing it up , it it possible to put a x18 engine on it to make it manual ? And if you jumped started it before with a car can the engine blow or will you need like a new starter ? And wires ?
I would get a 125cc Pit Bike engine, 4 speed, kick start only, no electric start. They will bolt right in I believe.
On the starter/electric problems need to test, so you don't buy a bunch of parts you don't need.

Id think about selling it and find a better bike to upgrade...The X22 is not a good candidate and is a deathtrap,,,,,adding more power will make it so even more.............
Yea I want to sell it and get a x-18 , but I need it to be running good to get good money for it , if I buy a battery n send you a video of how it sounds when I try to start it do you think you'll know what's wrong ?

Yeah sort of...you need to make sure the fuellines flow gas,,the carb is clean and adjusted right,,the sparkplug is good,,theres sufficient compression and spark......
How do I check if there's compression ? And if I was to make a video and email you how it's sounds when I try to start it do you think you'll be able to help get it running ?

You test the compression with a compression tester...You can also use your finger over the hole while cranking it...If the compression blows your finger off the hole the comp is good...If not the compression is too weak....These cheap chinese engines are easy to bend a valve..........
If you over rev it enough the valve can hit the top of the piston.............bent valve, only takes .005" and hot air starts blowing thru heating up the seat and warping the valve also. I am looking for stiffer valve springs for my X18 new spare head I have, causes w/ the blue CDI and hp coil, hp exh and 23mm carb it revs higher now.

#30-0896 KPM...Theyre hp valvesprings from Megacycle cams...They work 20 times better than the chinese springs....
Thanks have to go look, is that Megacyclecams w/ a www. & .com and the end, lol.

yes........I used them in a few XR engines and a couple ATC200 engines but Ive also matched them to hardfaced camshafts of the same brand too...even after a huge beating the MCC springs still retained better spring pressure than an unused Honda spring.............In modified china 110's I use Honda brand springs and they work way better than the chinese springs......
There in San Rafael Ca., 1 hr drive for me.
