For a cateye build i have multiple options as far as engines go... i have 2 b&s 6.5hp ohv engines. 2-5hp ohv honda clones... cateye 49cc... and a lifan 110cc... for the money what is everyones opinion on what will be faster for the moneyu?

Not sure. But i had gokart with a 5hp B&S do 47mph and im 6ft and 230lbs. It would be neat to see a 110cc motor in a cateye tho. :) there was another member that a cateye he had a 6.5ohv motor in it.

Thats funny..This one goes a hair faster........I call it my deadly sleeper........LOL..It used to be a 43cc chinese stand-up/sitdown G440 scooter I converted to 4 stroke then into a mini-minibike.





Theres members with both types of engines...Vert90GT put an 88cc and a 114cc engine in a cateye.....It wasnt very controllable during shifts and it wasnt very fast because the tire diameter was the limiting factor against the transmission sprocket output final drive....................The 114cc would of went alot faster on a superbike frame......


If ya stretch the cateye,,add YSR hydraulic front forks and 12" YSR rims/tires..Then you might have a chance with the lifan........

Haha nice! I wish i still had it. I would drift the hell out of it in the corner. It was a old school carter 1 seater with a early 90's 5hpbB&S with a rednecked stinger pipe. The i used a yamaha atv chain cut to size. I kept braking the gokart and bikecycle chains. :)

Well i still think at first i am gonna do the highly modded 49cc... we started an x7 with a 6.5 today... but now he is thinking about the clone due to parts availability... we will see how that one works out...
