I took off my starter button and i am putting a customized button in it, i was wondering if i can just get two wires bolt them on to the starter relay then hook them up to my " custom momentary button " or would i need to hookup a fuse?

Right now the way i start my bike is using a piece of metal and making the two terminals on the starter relay solenoid have "Contact"

You could jump it with a wire, it's really just 12V "Signal" since you are controlling a "Relay" (Starter Relay) The current flowing from the battery to the starter would be too much for a small switch to handle, this is why we always use Relays to control starters, otherwise we would need the big old foot switch like what they used to use in the 40's 50's 60's and even 70's

Wire it like this...........The starter button is not powered...Its a ground that completes the totally live positive wire circuit to activate the solenoid after the power switch is thrown and button pushed.................Good Luck........
