Hydraulic Clutch Setup on the Dirty Girl....

So i had this hydraulic clutch setup for years now. I was gonna use it with my 180cc 4v motor for x15 trackbike. I still haven't done anything with the motor and it's still sitting in the box it came in.
So i decided to put to try it out on my x18 Since my clutch cable setup wasn't optimal enough for me. When ever i had to pull off from the starting line. I had to leave with the front wheel off the ground. So i never got a good launch. With my cable setup i couldn't slip the clutch at all. It was either fully engaged or diss-engaged but no in between.

Now since i put the hydro clutch on,evrything feels nice and smooth so far.And it seems i can slip the clutch because now it has a better feel to it. Plus it's way easier to operate verses the cable system.
The hydro setup was a pain in A because i had to drain out the Chinese cooking oil and replace it with some real fluids. This takes a lot of time to bleed this system.Oh and i also had to open up the hydraulic clutch lever actuator that mounts to the engine. And remove a spring from the inside and screw the little piston down on the shaft because it was loose. Just like everything from China you have to re-build it for it to work properly.

Now my only concern is if it releases the clutch fully so that theres no slipping. So i don't fry my clutches. This is on my mind because of how far the lever on the motor is positioned far forward.
I guess when i take the bike out for a fall test ride doing some laps. Then i will truly find out if this will work for me or not.But so far i'm really liking this even after the pain to get it to work.possibly?????? LOL

I had one of those for a while as well I could never get them to work because my exhaust was right in the way on both the 19&18 I could rework it a bit just enough to clear but was afraid of boiling the fluid being so close to the exhaust let us know how it works out cuz I will def use it on my 150 instead of keeping the shelf underneath it clean of dust lol
Been tinkering with the setup and i'm feeling better and better about. It's so easy to slip the clutch. But if i release it fast enough it will still lift the front wheel off the ground easy. I kinda wish i would have done this earlier during racing these bikes. I truley believe it would have help me ride better and faster. DAM!!!!!!
One of us need to move closer lol I know we could build and race some fun bikes
I'm glad to see some motivation on them tho its kinda like my cars I'll build them to a point then get bored with them and come across a new part that get me back into it
My problem yet is I have yet to totally finish a car or bike or r/c helicopter or nitro car ECT to the point where its done as in all that I could possibly do to it without going completely overboard per say lol but I think I can do it with these bikes for once LOL
Yeah i'm looking into moving to Va. My inlaws want me and the family to move back to Ct. But I gotta stay close to the warm weather. Makes for a longer race season. But if we were close enough it would cost more money in tires for these things. When I use to go and practice in the lot every weekend. I was burning up tires like crazy. So I could imagine racing/practicing with another diehard like myself. It would be nice nice to not be the last man standing all the time.lol Everybody always quit on me. Lol
In my eyes these things are cheap to do hell a brake kit for my Suzuki was 800 and exhaust was 1200 putting that money Into one of these bikes its a total transformation that's why i like them granted in not made of money just a reg guy working as a auto tech for 15 years living the middle or lower middle class life all my toys i got for cheap or broken hell the first new vehicle i ever purchased was my x19 lol even my tool box cost more than any other car i have purchased
And i could see going through tires the lots are rough tarmac and its not good anyways for testing correctly so i can see the younger Gen loosing interest when there motor blows and its 300 for a new one or 600 for a 160 plus carb plus wiring plus making it work but for us its easy to some extent lol and compared to cars or big bikes a mere fraction of the cost and you can hone your skills with set up and riding on the track before hopping on a 160hp bike and doing 150+ on a track lol
Nah mine was a 86 mercury lynx wagon lol ok ok off topic here sorry bows that clutch setup coming in anxious to pull mine down off the shelf sat and get to work I hate taking all the fairings off every dam weekend lol
I wanna test it out tommorow but the motogp races are on early. Wifey gotta work so I gotta watch the kids. Lol So I might not get to officially test it till weds. Im pretty sure it will be good though. One of the guys @xmr uses one on his nsf150r. And he said it works perfect for him. his motor is probably over 23hp to the rear wheel.
How much would a stock play bike benefit fork one of these? Sounds like a rather interesting idea.....LOL
dam the clutch was the last thing keeping S slow, now its gonna be even harder
and im in the middle of you drgn and Swheels...party over here
i wont quit on you dog, might get tired tho lol
that 4v needs to be in my foster care, not full custody but ill teach it how to run
man there is so much i wanna do and only a small amount of funding
did get nate out on the pb again, that china slick is nicer than the pmt!
any word on elgin? gotta work, gonna miss the assen gp...peepeed
gl on your mod bro

LOL I know o'l man That's why i've been focusing on making the bike easier to go faster. Yeah i was loosing a lot on the starts and entering highspeed turns i felt. Plus i should be able to keep the motor up higher in the rpms closer to the power range for the cam i'm running. That way i can power out of the turns more.

Hey thought about letting you use the 180 4v. Awhile back but i'm only 85% on running the watercooled motor. My original plan for x15 trackbike was to go with the 180. The x15 was meant to be faster than x18.

We'd have a heck of a team if we all lived closer that's for sure!
Funny thing is i moved to Nc thinking there would be more racing going on plus good weather more racing.

Hey Blitz races come on again tonight at 9pm.

Well it should make clutch operation consistant. Verses the cable stretching out coming into to play. Now this is provided that you can get the old fluids out new in and bledded properly.

Haha that wouldnt be an issue....i play with real cars for fun... Bleeding hydro stuff inst too hard..... I currently have a 318ci engine on a stand building it for a high boost turbo setup.... For my daily driver truck...LOL gonna be around 5-550hp at the wheels....fluids on a clutch are easy....LOL

You do know it's made in China? Lol
And it does not have a bleeder screw per say
Yeah I forgot to mention that....my bad fellas No bleeder valves and these are more designed to be used on motors with the clutch on the secondary shaft. If you want to use it on a motor with a primary shaft clutch setup. It will takes some modding to make it work. I believe it can be done. I will post up pics later to show in detail.
i wouldnt run the wc motor just cause its not as fast as the other motors, certainly not the 165, unless you just want to give me a chance to win lol
i kinda think the 165 would beat the 180 or id say use that but then maybe you thought that too or were to lazy to swap them
you should do the 170 kit on the D girl, thats what think

Here's the crazy thing about the 180's. There 2 different batches made. The earlier ones which I have was said to be over 20hp there is a site here in the U.S. that posted some dyno numbers on them. Now the second batch were only 170's. Plus I found a way to use a performance cam and with a little port work. That motor should be pretty insane for sure. I'm sloooooowwwweeeelllyyyyy working my way to it.lol

I was thinking of putting a 67mm bbk on the D girl. I'm gonna come up with something.
can you show a pic of how its mounted on the engine? i just ordred one...my clutch cable sucks...LOL it sticks like heck, and is either too loose that the lever flops, or too tight that the clutch slips bad....there seems to be no in between...LOL it was frustrating today.....
