Haven't owned a pocket bike yet, or really even been around them even though a few years ago I was in the sport bike scene. I'm supposed to be picking up a pocket bike this afternoon. Getting it basically free, sight unseen. Hoping it's somewhat decent but from what I can tell, there's a wealth of info on here for whatever I'm in for.

Ok, so not that I'm getting much response and I suppose after looking at my posts I didn't give much reason to respond. I did though, after having some fun on this cag, decide to look for more. I've picked up a beat up x2 that sat outside for a while. So now I have 2 projects. Both run pretty decent but need some adjustments and overall TLC. Also waiting to hear back from someone else on CL that has another pair of cags. Eventually I'll get some pics up and start getting serious about what I can do for them. In the meanwhile, I have to say thanks to CAM2 especially. In everyone else's threads, you've really given me a lot of help and advice. It's because of you and EPR I was able to get the x2 running so quickly. It was a carb issue.

Just had my wife run out in the garage and grab these pics. :D Thought I had some on my phone but I guess not. For what it's worth, I picked up the blue cag as trade for some junk I was going to throw away anyway and the X2 for $50. I do have the rest of the plastics for the X2 but no screws for them.

Nice, they both look like they are fairly good shape and most the parts seem to be there.. Nice finds! I think that Cag is one of the newer ones and has a bunch of restrictors.. Have too peek around the forums to find them all but I think the muffler has stuff in it and needs to be gutted, There is a throttle restrictor in the throttle body and the Carb is not adjustable..

I could be wrong. Is there a date plate on it?

Either way, lots of fun to be had and have fun modding them to make them faster and more dangerous.. ;)

Looking for a date plate...I knew there was something I wanted to do last night.

The Cag needs new pads for the rear brakes and there's definitely no restritor on the muffler since it's a straight pipe. The kid that had it cut and welded to be just a straight pea shooter pipe. I'm thinking about drilling holes and adding the paint can muffler to quiet it a little bit. He also told me that the carb was broke and showed it to me. I didn't have my glasses on so when he showed it to me, all I did was nod in agreement. It ran and doesn't leak so it's my assumption it needs adjusted. Out of laziness...I still haven't looked at it to see what he's talking about.

Id buy a new exhaust with an expansion pipe........even if its the cheapo hp pipe its still better than what you got...........A spraycan mod will only do so much and you will need a stinger and a welder to get it modded......

Get the massive dual pipe

I really want to get the massive dual pipe, looks sweet! But like many on here, need to wait for the funds and with Christmas coming up and 2 kids...funds have been redirected.

I also couldn't find a date plate, or any identifiers anywhere.

In the meanwhile, I looked at the carb last night. It's an easy fix as you can see here.

Also, here's a pic of the current exhaust. I thought it was just a straight simple pipe. I was slightly wrong. Could I do the paint can to lower the sound a little until I can get the massive dual pipe?

Nice find, get some real coarse steel wool, cram a bunch in the end, and see if you can get it stay there with a little screen or something. Also that top cable on the carb and the fitting need a rubber seal piece to keep the carb from sucking air thru the cable hole.
I have 10 bikes now, alot of work, lol.

As luck would have it, wife had other plans for our weekend.
In the meanwhile, I had a few minutes of boredom and decided since little blue has a wobble at low speeds to look into things. The front wheel leans a little so I adjusted the forks so that they're even. I also noticed the bearings didn't feel right. So I popped those off and they're soaking in oil right now. I'll replace them soon but this is my temporary fix. I know they're sealed..but being cheap chinese bearings, they took some oil in already and felt better in the first 5 minutes. I'm letting them soak until I can get back to it.

I also noticed that one of the bolts holding the engine on looked loose. After closer inspection, it's cross threaded. Thankfully they didn't go too deep or tight with it (<-my inner teen just chuckled) so it should be an easy fix. Even if I have to tap it. (<-that's what she said)

ps: for my future reference they were 6000RS
