is it possible?

Hello,

I have 2 motors. one of which I have an upgrade kit for it. However the kit came with a new crank/arm/piston etc.
my question: Can I pull the 2 motor halves apart to install a new crank?
(I am having trouble pulling a flywheel or clutch off as well)
Thank you.

You will need to use pullers and other various tools to pull the flywheel and clutch hub off...

Sometimes you can rent or borrow the puller from your auto parts store
yeah everybody keeps saying that but, never have I ever heard of places doing that in Canada. maybe in some small USA town, where you're friends with the mechanic, but not in the city
A puller is the way to go, I bought one from the auto parts store.
Otherwise the crude method would be loosen the bolt, put it back in halfway by hand. With medium pressure, use a screwdriver, pry up on the flywheel and /or clutch, and whack the bolt. Turn the flywheel 180 deg and do it again.
If it's new you'll have to heat up the glue, if it's older you should be alright.
Just know it's very possible you'll damage to the screw through. I did that one time. had to go store and buy another bolt

That sucks that you don't have that in Canada every AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto parts in the US has the free tool rental.

Looks like PartSource and Canadian Tire has free tool rental in Canada

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Yeah the crude method is definitely crude. Find a cheap puller if you continue having pocket bikes. I use a car crank puller, has 4 spots to bolt down. I only need 2 opposite each other.

No harborfreight.com where you live either? Cheap tools last a long time some only last 1 or 2 uses. Still cheaper than paying someone. Check ebay
