Ok so after selling my x7 I trolled craigslist every hour of the day to see what I could find. Finally yesterday I picked up a mt-a3 I believe. The bike is heavily moded and I easily past 30mph.Its a little scary and I haven't top it out completely yet but ill work up to it.My question is this, when speaking to the seller he told me I would have to feather the throttle to keep it on cause it does not idle.I asked him why and he responded its because its built.I want to know if there is a way around that, I need to make this idle.Ill post pics up as soon asI get home.

sounds like it could have a possible airleak or the carb may need to be rejetted or readjusted.....It could also be a reed related issue too.....What kind of carb is on it.........MT-A3 is a GP-RSR w/ full suspension.......

My engines are built and theyll idle for extended periods of time...........
It's a MT-A2 full fairing Cagillari Daytona copy bike. Probably has a 49cc engine, you can tell by fins on the head/cylinder.

do you know the weight limit on these?
do you know the weight limit on these?
Its the MX3 version...EPR has the MX3 plastics and boxed swingarms too on his and if its original his will be one too.........The weight limit used to be 240-250lbs for the older versions with the heavier duty frames ..The weight limit on the newer ones is 189lbs..They have beefier framed newer ones that handle 225lbs but theyre $60 more in price than the crappier model and pretty hard to get a hold of...I think Spyguy knew of a place that has them but hes still on hiatus....
by looking at the picture can you tell which one mine is?if its the 240 one its fine.If its the cheaper im seriously pushing the weight limit

Its kinda hard to tell without better pictures.....On the sides look for tiny pinholes or rivets where a plate used to be..........Like this.......

Take something and tap on the tubes and see how solid they sound.......Thinwalled tubing is very defined in sound........

Heres my MX3/ Mt-A2...Its the older thicker version frame.............

It looks like this now and can handle 300 lbs..........LOL

CAM what did you do to make the frame stronger??
Before any mods.........

Heres with a swingarm swap with one from a BMX bike..It adds 5 1/2" of extra length aswell as way more strength............

After strengthening and lengthening........Notice a difference?

yeah i see the added bars by the engine plate and through out the lenght of the main bar.
I love the pegs but wont the size and length affect when you lean to turn?

No....the bottom of the BMX stuntpegs are 4 3/8" higher off the ground than the stock footpegs because of the added stretch and even if they were just a lil low they can be remodeled by being trimmed and resculpted a bit..........

Look at the two middle pics in post #9...stock the footpegs were lower than the rear axle.....modded the pegs are above the rear axle ........
Im headed over to home depot to buy a small welder,Its on sale for 100 bucks. Its not heavy duty or anything but I think its enough for the bike.I also got an extra frame and front end, extra pull starts, engines, wheels and tires.Ill some off and keep some to learn.
See why I need a stronger frame lol
Nice! lol, when you gonna put a gas engine in that 3 wheeler?! That bike will be his in a year and you'll have a bigger stronger one... My Guess... lol

Cheers
