okay so i got my money in and now wanna get an engine. i dont have to much to spend and these are in my price range, if anyone knows of a better engine for not to much more money please let me know.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIFAN-140CC...es&hash=item53ececcdeb&vxp=mtr#ht_7238wt_1270 lifan 140cc, rated power 8.7 hp and max power of 11.4 hp and a 4 plate clutch.

piranha 140cc, i could not find a rated power but i found its max power is 11hp and a 5 plate clutch.
tho only real difference i could see was one more plate in the piranha clutch and slightly less power from the piranha. im sure someone has had both engines and knows which ones is the better buy.
which ever engine i get will be put with a 24 or 26mm carb, havent decided yet maybe one of yall can help me with that too, blue cdi, inferno coil from pbu and a 14/28 gear ratio only because thats the sprockets i already have..

yes i know i asked this question before,
The second one comes with a 22mm carb. I have a 26mm Mikuni I tried on my X18 110cc, it was to big. A 24 or 26mm would probably work on that 140cc engine, the one has bigger valves and ports.
heres were my brother is getting yx140....hes bought bunch of stuff from this sit, talk to Ron.....it comes with a 26MM carb and other stuff

also heres another good place with the lifan 140....

http://dratv.com/li14.html it comes with the oil cooler

it comes with 15 from sprocket....but my brother uses 17 front with a 35 back
i like the 1st one but its out of stock..
I like the second one, it has an hp coil and CDI and has a rectifier without a battery, so you can run lights and gauges and comes w/ and oil cooler & hp oil pump, which means it is probably a hp engine.
so do you think the 2nd one is better than the 2 engines i posted? i heard good stuff about the piranha for cam2, and he seems to know everything about this stuff.. not doubting you but you know.. i liked the 4 up shifting from the other engines, but 1 down 3 up isnt something i couldnt get used to.
nvm after reading and looking up everything with the 140cc from beatrice cycle thats deff the one to get, would i need any kind of wires to hook everything up? or is it all connect this wire to this one and this one to that one?
thanks moko, that 2nd one looked perfect and with everything that comes with it actually comes out to be $2 more expensive but the carb and oil cooler are of much better quality. I just ordered it :D
You won't be sorry. Most of them are Pit Bike engines, no alternator, no battery or lights. I don't know which is best, only what I like best. With power you can put night lights on it, my ATV has front lights and a brake light.
the main differance they might not say is the bore and stroke, the lifan has a 59mm stroke and virtually no upgrades, the pirahana is the same as the gpx and ogm of past, it has a 57mm stroke and all kinds of good upgrades, i raced with this motor for years http://tboltusa.com/store/piranha-140cc-enginebr-fits-pit-bikes-and-other-minis-p-660.html
and you def need the 5 plate clutch
well i dont plan on racing the bike, that one just seemed to have everything i wanted, i dont know how to change pistons and cams anyways. if someone could tell me how to take the head off to port the cylinder intake that would be great. http://www.ooracing.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=130 this site has alot of lifan 140cc performance parts.
Nice website, must be in England, at first I thought its was US dollars and I said man there cheap, even in pounds there prices and parts looks great.
On eBay I got a new 110cc head w/ cam and valves & rockers and all for $36 and free shipping, last year going to mod that.
Do any of you guys know anything about modding or getting a modded automatic honda clone clutch for a 125cc auto w/ reverse engine??

I hate to say this but if your gonna race road course. Then I believe and many experience racers would agree. Handling trumps hp anyday of the week in road course racing. I seen this play out many times on the tracks.lol You get the guys with waaay more hp going over to the under powered bikes. Looking them over trying to figure out. What the hell just happen,as they look at the engine in the less hp bikes.lol Skipping over the most obvious, suspension, tires and brakes. I'd work with the motor get your bike setup to where the bike handles great, then build up hp.
i just got new tires, my brakes work fine and iv never felt any problem with my stock suspension. I really dont know why everyone hates it so much.

Then I have some questions, what bike are you riding and have you any previous road course racing experience? I can already tell you haven't ridden your bike hard enough to find out why some of the stock components are no good for racing.
x 19, no iv never raced it and not much. im sure a suspension upgrade would be good to have but i dont have 100 bucks for a shock, same reason i cant get a better pipe yet.
so im sure your right about needed a new shock, what do you think about this one, its 7mm longer than stock but the price is good for me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-rear-...es&hash=item3cc7804cb7&vxp=mtr#ht_3076wt_1037
That shock is no better. I understand, being on a budget and building. What will work best is a MTB shock with bound and rebound adjustments. Sometimes you can find them cheap on ebay. But more important is that rear swingarm. You have to be real careful,it will bend twist and sometimes even crack.
i had a friend that raced his and it was bone stock except the tires. It still had the 110cc stock engine. By the time the race weekend was over. The rear swingarm was twisted and had a small crack. I think the stock shock had a lot to do with this. Because the coils are so close together causing them to stack and bind up..
iv seen alot of mtb shocks on ebay for like 15 bucks but there all 6 inches or less and stock is 9 inches, i dont wanna get to far away from that. iv also rewelded all the welds on the swingarm. do you think a 10 inch shock would be to long?
