Mini harley engine mounting and chaining

ok i got one of those mini harley bikes with the headlights and turn signals and a lil 33 cc in it and it goes preaaatyy fast, but this is the story

the electric starter died and i didnt have a pull start
so i stuck the pawl bolt in the hole( i think its a shaft) in the engine and drill started it and it broke

so now i cant get that out, so i said the hell with that engine, its old anyways

so im lookin on ebay and they have this nice lil engine, but the problem is that the sprocket on the back wheel is on the right side and idk if i might need a jackshaft or not, i dont have any money or experience for a jackshaft so i was just gunna turn my wheels around to the left side if it doesnt work out right, is that a good idea, reverse tread? whats some ideas? any help? please please and any idea how to take that bolt out? i tryed EVERYTHING, i mean EVERYTHING. i was hours on youtube and the internet to find out a way and it didnt work, thanks :)

my origional engine looks like this:

oh heres the engine i wanna get will it work without a jackshaft or somethin, or can i rigg it ? saftly tho?

The broken bolt needs to be drilled down the middle till its close to the inner threads then pick out the pieces left and retap it.
The first engine is a right side drive engine the 5 to 1 transmission reverses the engine direction or the engine would turn backwards and the rear wheel.
I would not buy on Amazon, Ebay got a new engine just like that for $119 to my door. The new engines say 49cc, 44mm bore, but the bore is 42.7mm not sure of the stroke. There still better than a 33cc hands down, lol. I got a modded cyld from Boosted306, here on PBP for $60 for that engine it has a Walbro WT-813 16mm pumper carb and Jet Pro exhaust, very fast.

alright., imean i just want a new motor cuz i can sit there for days drilling at a time and i wont barley make progress i mean this bolt is like HARD, but your saying those motors are a bunch of bs on power? i mean 80 bucks is a good price but i just want something new. and i been wondering this for the longeesst time but if the cylinder on the SECOND engine i showed you, does that face towards there front of the bike? with the air filter in the back? cuz my motor looks like yours but can i turn it around to fit on the right without a jackshaft and stuff? i dont wanna pull the trottle and shoot in reverse ya know? ill send pics in a couple minutes,

thanks
That center bolt is probably case hardened. A 49cc would be much better.
could i fit that engine on it ? i mean i thinnk its made for the left side instead of the right? im not sure man how can i do this?

Theres ways to make the pistonported and reeded engines spin both ways..........left and right.............

Man those bikes r sick! I wanna do that to my mini harly like what u did on the last one, only with just 1 motor, how fast can a 49cc go on that? I'm 170 pounds an 6 foot. And really important- how do u change it from left to right side of the motor spinning?
hey also i wanted to know if i can just turn my wheel around and put it on the left, would that effect anything? i been asking around and they say just do that, it should work fine, is that correct?
If it has a rear brake and you turn the rear wheel around, you need to move the brake to the other side also, other than that, don't see any problems.
Them transmissions on the twin engine, reverse the direction of the engine. Same one I have on my scooter, if you run the chain on the left side you use a Cag bell housing and a few minor mods.

Theres many-many ways to accomplish things...The best way is to try them out as a learning curve if youre up for the challenge......The rearwheel can be flipped aswell as some swingarms with minimal refabrication for the shock mount....My bike i used an X1 swingarm and modified it by crossing it with the stock miniharley swingarm

In a modded 49cc form with the stock 12/36 gearing itll get up to a topspeed of 33-35mph.......With a gearing like mine of 17/36 and twin 43cc higher than stock revving engines with double the stock power each engine the speed almost doubles at a tick over 50mph........When its modded a bit stouter and modded with better exhaust aswell as given even more revs and geared 17/25 its gonna see speeds over 60 mph+ easily especially when modded with a larger x1 or x7 rear wheel and 22 tth rear sprocket which will make the gearing of 1.8:1...Its gonna take some ground to acheive the speed but its gonna be a personal goal out of adding scientific proof to the theory and the math involved................Good Luck with your project and with the right tools or money you can acheive your goals..........

If you have a swingarm this 3 to 1 reduction trans moves the front pinion gear back so the chain don't drag on the swingarm. You find them alot on mini dirt bikes.

****, i tempted to ask you guys if i can buy one from you cuz all i can find on ebay and stuff is crap, but i dont wanna spend alll that money cuz i can buy a new mini bike from some guy on craigslist that works perfect for as much as i can get an engine, so what you say?
The call is up to you on whats more important...Once you get that running minibike youll still have a non-running bike aswell....

Id say to buy the running bike and if it dont run or ride the way you like then clean it up and flip it for a small profit then take the money and get the other bike running.............
Spare parts is the way to go, like Cam2 says. My new 125cc ATV w/ reverse cost $549, a new set of 4 rims and tires is $240 plus shipping. New bikes are cheap compared to buying new bike parts.
hey guys i finally turned my tire around and it spins perfect! i havent bought the motor cuz i have been having a debate to myself, i want to go really fast, but i dont wanna spend alot of money, and i dont wanna get that 49cc cuz i think it will go the same speed, so if i get a harbor frieght engine thats 99cc or somthin you think that would work with a clutch? i need some suggestions and stuff thanks:D
The H/F engines don't have a clutch that's another $100.
i know that i can buy a clutch for like 30 but also veery important quesetion, can i use that transmittion on my mini harly and stick it on the harbor frieght? and would it work and no problems?

also do i have to stick transmittion fluid oil in the transy?
Theres plenty of members here that stuck a 6.5hp harbor freight engine in their cateye.....mattyboi and ax7guitarist are just a couple members..Harley bikes are a bit easier to pull it off....You will need to fab up a jackshaft to get the engine and the rearwheel to line up while keeping the engine mounted balanced..........Jackshafts are pretty easy to pull off......Ive built about 3 dozen projects that involve them ....All are a bit different but function beautifully and offers alot of gearing possibilities.

You wont be able to use the chinese transmission on the h/f engine unless you super modify and fabricate some things and will offer a 3:1 gear reduction.... The trans takes 100cc's of lube in the gearbox part of 5w/20 light duty oil............30 weight will work ok but anything thicker will add friction and lag.............Good Luck
