1 the china li-ion for the most part lie about the capacity which is a huge disappointment when you look at your charger and they only hold a quarter of the amount of what they say they will.

2 they have a way higher failer rate not a big deal if you kit your own you can disasemble the packs and replace the bad cells as needid...

3 they last about 1/4 of the cycles as Japanese cells do not a big deal for some people that arent going to be running there machine very often.

those low priced ones people keep finding on ebay for supper low prices are complet trash they are onley good for testing or for a battle bot or something thats going to end up destroyed and you don't care about how many cycles you get out of it or if the capacity is half of what it says it is.

Wow... what am I supposed to do then? I couldn't find any of the li-on batterys from the USA. Lipos are too dangerous and expensive and SLAs are not powerful enough! I am not the type to give up... but I'm getting worried I might have to.... ;(

use genuine Panasonic, Hitachi, Samsung or Sony 18650 cells

use a pack bulding kit

it takes 13 cells to get to 48volts you need the 35amp high discharge cells...

use various web-based tools to calculate capacity and amp draw to meet or exceed requirements of speed control and motor combinations before building the packs

here is what i run.

or

i have a lote cars trucks drones boats e scooters to fuel and im sick of china trash battery packs that dont live up to expectations I refuse to buy them and will never recommend them to anyone I've had Chinese battery packs puff catch on fire and I even had one explode in my RC boat while I was out on the water not to mention Chinese batteries never hold the capacity that they claim they do they're usually about half but that's typical Chinese trash manufacturing they lie about everything you can't even buy a car amplifier from a Chinese manufacturer without them lying about how many watts it puts out

Unfortunately pre-made battery packs there's no telling what the cells are and if they're good quality or not there's also no telling if they use the proper gauge wiring or terminal connectors to handle the amp loads that they're claiming as well and if it's Chinese it's probably made of the lowest quality knock off crap they can possibly get I know for a fact that the old rule of you get what you pay for is very very true in battery packs....

China is also one of the few countries that manufactures stuff for export only for the reason there stuff is made so poorly that they don't even want it in their country

For the price of all them batteries you could buy a used Euro, Polini dirt bike, with like 12hp. I started with electric and got tired real fast, a lot of money and no power.

If I could I would. But my area has noise restrictions. Plus I would have to pay for gas.

The problem with making my own pack is that I have no idea what I am doing and I have no idea how to keep the batterys in place or even connect them. And i wouldn't have any overcharge protection or any way to charge them (unless i build all this myself; which even I don't trust myself doing)

How do I tell how much cells I need I would like 48 volts 15 - 20AH if it's not too expensive. I want get the li-on batterys you listed (the second link) I have no idea how I'm supposed to calculate this...

it takes 13 cells to make 48 volts then you start stacking depending on each cells capacity there is plenty of documentation on this if you Google it i would say about 13x4 should get you there if you use 3500s about 1.8ah about 52 cells so yeah when you do the math you can figure it out and see how Bogus the Chinese claims are on their packs
