Hello, Im new here but i have been reading on here for a while, the reason I that I did not sign up sooner is I didn't have my project then. I was given a small pit bike style dirt bike, its a 50 cc, so probably 47 or something, but regardless the engine is blown. I have stripped and cleaned the frame down and cleaned all the parts, I painted the wheels since i really like them im going to use them I'll post pics soon, Im going to buy a 54 cc Stage 5 engine with the two piece head, its rated at 5.5 hp which seems fair in my opinion, I'll probably take the head off anyways and clean it up a bit with my rotary tool, and just check it out quality wise. The way i see it even if i have to replace the piston or something early or immediately it still has the nice ported carb and 2 piece head for less than 200 bucks just up the block from me, not bad. Ill be on here alot and posting pics alot if anyone is interested. Thanks:thumbsup:

Nice, welcome to the site!
The 54cc is still a 44mm bore just like 49cc Cag engine, it probably has 5 ports like my blue winged head avatar photo engine. If you have a 47cc, that is 43cc w/ a 40mm bore. I would look on e-bay for a 49cc head kit with 4pc head with cyld & piston & stuff, FC crank, rocket key. Get some new crank bearings an seals and build your own for less than $100. My blue head kit w/ FC crank and all $74.99 shipping direct from Hong Kong air mail. I seen $160 FC crank HP engines on eBay, you still need to go over the whole engine and up your compression or Squish to get real power. Welcome to the nightmare, lol.
