i havent seen anyposts for anyone/anything in this general area. anybody know bout some races of anysort through this area. new around these parts and looking to put so rubber down.

of course, the pics have been on this site for a few years and still no real comments. picture section,polini, page2, custom polini

all the real specs elude me cause it was a total custom job i found when i was in sicily from a sicilian chopper builder who wanted to build another one. i asked original frame name and body type but he just kept repeating "original polini modified" we clocked it at 42mph so far. ive raced with it but just for fun in large parking lots when i was in sicily only. i was running with other polini and blata mostly. italian are serious when it comes to this game!

Are you still in Gulfport? So am I, or close enough, The Pass. Isn't there a kart track on 49 North somewhere? Maybe they would let people run there.

i did see the remnents of one on the west side of 49 close somewhere around the 10 maybe but, it was a wreck and pretty much abandon. i could see if i find any old numbers to get in touch with somebody but it is pretty bad.

im still in need of a triple clamp for my X1 and a water pump belt for the polini.

It wouldn't be remnants. I work in a custom metal fab shop. Last summer a co-worker was fabbing parts as a "home project" for a friend of his who races high performance karts. He told me that one of the tracks he races was "up 49 someplace." He didn't know where, and I haven't found it on Google or in the phone book. Could be Wiggins, for all I know.

Sounds like it has local possibilities. Wherever it is, it's closer than Florida! Maybe it's some kind of private track or club or something. I'll try to find out.

I found the nice kart track up 49. It's about 10min west of 49 on 53 near lizanna. It's a 1/4 mile oval kart track that is really a dirt track. There is asphalt but it's like they laid it then covered it in dirt and the asphalt that is showing is from wear. I went last Saturday for the season opener just to check the scene but you have to pay to get in the gate. 15 an adult 10 child. There was about 150 karts but I was passing through and wasn't going to spend 25$ for 20 min. The scene is like kart NASCAR from what I could tell.

Oval dirt/paved, is it? Not quite my cuppa, but if we can run there it's better than nothing. As my broken hand will attest, my driveway is definitely too short, and even an oval has at least two turns!

This weekend is the Blue Angels airshow for Keesler 50th anniversary, but I'll check it out next weekend. Thanks for the sleuthing!

so im back after a time of out of state training and im back with some news. i found a track that will let us in. it is a small club that is having problems with membership and if we have enough pocketbikes they will add a class for us to race but even if we just want to race on practice days for fun that is still good. they are a mini motard club

I'm in. That's just right up the street, for me, compared to Texas or Florida! I'll join right away. Should be ready to race by late July. I'll try to at least show up for events before then.

Are they still running this weekend? I was planning on bringing a couple of friends, and would like to meet you, too. Were you going Sat track day, or Sunday Race day? And what time do they start?

By the way, if I had all my gear together I would at least run on track day, just to help support the club. But, leathers, boots, and gloves are still a couple weeks out, for me, financially.

the only way i have at the moment to follow times is by reading thier forum and keeping up with the conversation of if track day is going down and what times it will be. i will go on race day not track day i have a disc golf game set up for saturday. i will probably throw my polini in the back of the truck just to show and tell but im missing the water pump belt so im not suppose to run it. same here with the leathers. last race day was 0900 arrival and they stayed till well past 200. text me and we'll talk. pm sent

i started a thread for round 3 to see if they post the days schedule or anything about the weekend.

I'm supposed to go pick up my boat Sunday, so I can only be there Sat., track day. If we both show up and show interest, even if not on the same day, that's stilla good thang.

A friend of mine races carts there sometimes, he's going to try to find out what's what.
