has anyone had any hands or time with the "Wasp 49cc" midi dirtbike? built on a 110cc size bike frame with 15" wheels, it's one of the bigger mini dirt bikes I've seen. you can find it on ebay or the ghost racing website.

yes it is chinese made and yes it dose contain some cheap parts but it has a unique look and it comes in ferrari red if you like that sort of thing...:p and it's one of the biggest midi dirtbikes I've seen... comparible in size to the super pocket bikes. the shocker thouhg is the $200 price!!

any opinions on this bike welcome

dude do urself a favor and get a real dirtbike that bike doest even have a multi speed tranny itll probably do bout 30 and i can do that on my bmx bike, and still outjump that, i mean while ur ebay just look up like a yz80 or a crf80 i have a klx110 and its awesum but yea if ur lookin at a wasp that mite b out of ur price range
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

I'm subscribed to a few offroad riding magazines, and they all say to stay away from these. Think about the craftmanship that goes into a cag, and thats more expansive! SO imagine yourself going off a jump on one of these, and then maybe going in and outta ruts, or just plain pushing it offroad. I think it would be better just to buy a used crf80. Offroad bikes take alotta abuse, And IMO this wouldn't hold up. I have never used one of these before and I am in no way an expert, But I just can't see how they can make a bike for that cheap that will hold up.
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

the fun of buying chinese biikes is tearing down the stock parts and replacing with killer aftermarket parts:) I really only care about the frame. most everything else would be tossed. I think one of the appeals of midi bikes is the cost.

would any 110 size dirtbike/pitbike swing arm and front forks fit this bike?
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

well if u wanna get technical u could get any swingarm on it it just matters how much fabricationu wanna do lol, but yea ud just have 2 check outlike the bushing size on the pivot and the spacing between the 2 pivots and then go rm there
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

coool. thanks. I guess I could ask the seller on ebay about the bushing size. can you ajust the ride height on a dirtbike? well anywqys I was thinking about putting on 14" rims, extended wing arms, bigger red anodized handle bars, front racing forks, eventually a 110cc liqid cool 4-stroke engine w/ race tuned exaust, nos booster and finally a resovoir offroad shock.
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

hehehe, that's quite a bit of modding to keep me busy! this is going to be a fun project. lots of garage time:) I'd like to focus on the bike suspension and frame before moving on to the engine. ....lol I'll make a beast out of that lil wasp!

give a man a garage, a machine with lots of mods and tools, thorow in some creative music and a cold brew and something special happens.... something beyond the understandings of a woman.
Re: new "Wasp" midi bike opinions

I actually own one of these, this is my main pocket bike lol.
I have a ported 49cc, fatty pipe, ported carb largers injectors, carbon fiber reeds, window booster port piston, full circle crank.

It does 55kmph, and wheelies up hills if i dont lean forward.

Only think thats broken on it so far after riggerous abuse are the brakes, and a few clutches :p There heavy though, about 90-100lbs with the engine and gas.

Tim
I would just get a xr 50 or get a ttr125 fun bikes me personaly like some trail riding or pop some whellies in a lot or up my ally if nobody calls the cops
Yeah my little wasp 49cc is on the obscene side of loud.. But fun.
take the pipe off and then call it quite!

HAHAHAHAHA
Lol, i have 5 tuned pipes. This ones the largest, and the loudest. Like a 1000 feet away annoying loud, and the carbon fiber reeds only made it louder :p
haha. if my bike was that loud.. let just say i would get in alot of trouble...
nah man. i wasnt talking about paernts....
I figure you were saying you would get in trouble being too loud in the city.. Im saying i live outta town, no worries with noise complaints.
