So if you saw my post about my bike, I replied how it had a large crack in the head piece. Well I fiberglassed it and am almost done painting it, so my bike is almost back together! Also, I ordered a 28 tooth racing sprocket from pbu. Will this be hard to install? I am not going to install it until I get the chain and front sprocket but I am going to keep it because I could only partial order at this time. Thanks!

Not hard remove rear wheel remove axle it should slide out with some persuasion and remove bolts for rear sprocket installation is reverse of removal

I suggest using a plumbers torch to heat the aluminum rim hub a lil to liquify the chinese loctite to avoid busted or stripped screw threads and ease screw removal....I enhanced the power so much on my X15's 107cc it could pull a 22tth with no problem

Is there any videos or pictures of this process? I understand what you guys are saying but I just don't want to mess something up. Thanks!
I don't take the wheel off, I pull the axle out the right side enough to clear the rim center, pull the chain off. Take off 1 bolt at a time, spin the rear tire for each one. Rear move the old gear, put the new one & the bolts, then the chain and slide the axle back thru, adj the chain, put on the axle nut.
Thanks a lot EPR that really clears things up. But why do I have to spin the rear tire for each one, and how much do I spin it? Thanks!
Enough to get to each bolt holding the sprocket on
Okay I think I understand. Thanks guys!
And hey I got a email from high at sd scooters he has 20tooth and up to 38 tooth for these bikes and all in between I'm so psyched I can finally get a 32-33 sprocket no more just 38 and 28 now I can really dial in my bike for the tracks just need a few chains now for all the sprockets
And cam wow I'd hate to see the top speed with that sprocket with that motor that can pull it crazy
Did you see my top speed yet
Well I already ordered the 28 sprocket and am going to get a 15 here soon. Thanks drgnprelude for your help with all this!
I always look for the easiest way to do it,lol. I had a 16/28 gear on my X18, it was to high for the power I had. I put a 16 up front to lower it a hair have not tested yet. The run out is a hair up hill and back is alittle down hill, works great on that, lol.
Would a 15/28 be okay on my bike? It is all stock except for a racing CDI and an air filter.
May be way underpowered I think once you get the carb it will pull it nice but stock I think 4th will be useless or you can use it as a overdrive LOL
Yeah I am going to get the carb probably around a week or two after the sprockets. Would that be okay since I won't be riding much?
Ya its ok to ride it just won't be able to use forth that's all maybe you will depends on how much you weigh
I'm only 115 lbs. Will I be able to use 4th when I get the new carb? Thanks!
Oh god yes when you get the new carb it will be good also it might work fine for you now and 4th may be useable with your weight
Okay thanks man!
I went from the 16/28to 15/28 have not ridden it yet, soon. I weigh 135lbs and have my bike under 150lbs. The trip out w/ the 16/28 combo it is up hill a hair all the way following the creek. With the stock 19mm carb I hit 55 in 3rd on the china speedo, hit 4th and I could only hold my speed. Getting ready to put my 22mm back on and with the HP coil and CDI should get better, that X12 HP side pipe on put on is Sick.
On the way back its all down hill alittle runs good there. With the 15 front gear the chain is rubbing on the swing arm. I have a 13 & 14 also which would make more of a rub, on the road its better with weight on it.
