might be a stator problem,,,could be a valve problem too...both arent too hard to check....
thanks i will check cleaned out carb and gas tank that didnt work but i will try your idea
thanks man
Sounds like the timing of the stator is off.....i had similar iasues with my gocart (dirtbike engine powered) and i had sheared off the keyway on the rotor....slid enough to advance the timing far enough to make it not run and kick back on the kick start hard enough to almost break your ankle....LOL
Thanks guys, sounds like your right. I have have fuel, spark, and compression and it still wont start.
Checking the stator and valves will be a new venture for me but gonna have to find time to tackle it.
Any suggestions for me since this will be the first time I've dug into a motor to fool with a stator?
Anyone know of a website or book I can get to walk me through it and checking the valves if need be?
You don't need to take the stator off, you check the wires with a voltmeter first to see if it's good.
Thanks EPR. I checked the stator like you said and it is good. I think boogieoy has a good idea. I will check the flywheel and see if it the keyway has sheered.
I have never heard of a 4 stroke engine, that the magnets broke the key & jumped on the shaft.
