my exhaust for my 2 stroke 49cc pocket bike has come off. the bolts that hold it onto the engine one has snapped and broke the thread. so now there is no thread to put a screw into.

i was wondering if i could just get a brass pipe and stick it into the hole where the exhaust usually goes because the original exhaust cannot be screwed on now.

because its 2 stroke can you go without a thick exhaust. can i use a straight brass pipe.

im asking because i have no other alternative for an exhaust.

thanks

Just run No Exhaust... lol It will be messy and loud but fook it..... lol New heads are only like 10-20 bucks.. Hell, new HP Head Kits are less than 50 bucks now days... They also sell reverse drill bit sets, if you have acess to a drill press they could help get it out quick. Or drill it out with a normal bit and re tapp the hole..

Have fun!

if i run it without an exhaust it could damage my pistons. i will loose heaps of power also.

where the exhaust connects to the motor there is a little box. in that box there are 2 threads welded for your screws to go in for the exhaust to attach. one of those welded threads broke. i am unable to weld another on because there is no way open this box to access the inside.

Interesting... What pocket bike did that come out of?

Weld the muffler to the box lol.. Or take a spring muffler manifold, weld that to that box, cut the old mount off the muffler, weld a spring Clip "U"' the the muffler use a spring. Like the HP fatty mufflers..

I'd love to see a pic of the bike and engine.... ;)

Yes there is a way............ I gutted both of my exhaust boxes.... I did it with a screwdriver and a nice pair of needle nose,, ripped it apart by twisting off pieces and pulled it through the exit holes...
