On a stock engine, you will benefit from a carbon fiber reed. You reinstall everything. If you modify you engine a lot (porting, raised compression, etc) the tin reed is best imo.
Also, all new gaskets when you take anything apart.
Yes you need to put the reed stoper back in or the reed can open into the crank and get destroyed
I like to modify my reed stopper by sanding the backside slightly so the Reed can open just a little bit farther but if your engine is not boost ported it will have zero benefit.
