After doing a fair amount of research, I finally decided to convert my kids Razor MX500 to gas. My main goals were to do this with no welding, no major mods to the bike and keep it looking as original as possible. Parts are listed below. Hope this helps other looking to do this conversion.

Question, in the end it was it cheaper to do this then they just go out and buy a three or $400 70cc or 90cc pit bike?

My total cost was $220. Probably could have saved a few more dollars if I ordered from other sites but I didn't want to wait on the parts. I haven’t seen any 70 or 90cc bikes in the $400 range.

That's unfortunate. Francis I agree. I picked up 70cc that needed a carburetor for $100, I picked up a couple others for about $150 with either a 110cc or a 125. They all needed some work but not bad. Mx500 and MX650 around here go for well over $400 and half of them still need new batteries. I'm lucky in my area if I can find a razor for less than $200. I can find gas pit bikes all day long for 200 or less. That's just crazy different parts of the country what's easier to get and what's not. They were so cheap that I actually wanted to buy one and convert it to Electric, but I would use a 2 or 3000 watt motor.

Just the opposite in my area. I can find razor mx500 and 650's all day long for $100-$200 but none of the gas bikes as cheap as y'all can find them.

I like to tinker and build stuff and my son is very excited so it's a win, win for us.

No man I get it. Like I said I wanted to convert a gas dirt bike to Electric because they're so cheap in my area. Although about 5 years ago the electrics used to be pretty cheap. But in the last like 3 years I'd say they got expensive. So much that I could buy a brand new one for $50 more than some of these people are asking.
A win-win is what you always want. And yes tinkering is always cool
