Guess it's time to finally get this thing out of the storage shed and get it painted up and back together and working

I already ground off all the mounting tabs for the lower fairing stuff and the front fairing stuff years ago for that clean rat bike look!!!

I also placed the wiring where it belongs in the garbage can!!!

I don't have the plastic tank cover and the gas tank was leaking so I threw it away as well ill get creative 馃槀!!!

Any opinions for color on paint options would be helpful they say Orange is the New Black but I don't know I think it was a wast of 500$ what do you think!

Getting back to this X7 build project decided to go with the orange unfortunately the color doesn't match pumpkin car that well but it is what it is.

I went to mount the engine and I wanted to at least do the base gasket delete mod but i couldn't put it back together with the exhaust port blocked by bad casting so I'm going to have to port it out IMG_20200609_150516434_HDR_1591751586905.jpg IMG_20200609_152222836_HDR_1591751611635.jpg IMG_20200609_152232584_HDR_1591751634032.jpg

I went ahead and did the typical port out opening up the transfer ports and the exhaust port I didn't go to aggressive because this is a stock engine.

If you're going to do the base gasket delete mod I stress this you have to be extremely careful when you clean the mating surfaces that you don't gouge into them if you put nics into the mating surfaces you will have to use a gasket.

Use a very light coating of yamabond bond or hondabond on the cylinder side mating surface.

Make sure you don't have too much ooze out any more than what I have pictured and you used too much sealant and you'll have to take it apart clean it out and try again

Getting my engine all finished up I mounted the carburetor using homemade gaskets.

Then I carefully used Pumpkin Cars battery to crank over the electric starter so I can start it! 馃榿. ( If you own a VW you should know they have a delicate electrical system)
