well guys i have an x2 that i been riding for a while but the ignition coil is kinda old and i have a cag engine with a brand new ignition coil and i was wondering if the cag ignition coil produces a stronger spark than the x2 ignition coil. i haven't switched them yet to see if there's any difference in spark when i turn the engine over, so if u guys have any helpfull info on this topic please drop it below, thxs in advance :)

Oooh, well thxs guys saved me some time there :) , well any tricks u guys got for getting a stronger spark? I did a few basic stuff like clean both surfaces and gap it a little closer but thats about it.
The gap is supposed to be set to .020"...gapping it tighter might weaken the spark.........

a way to increase spark is get a better quality sparkplug

Get some 7 or 8mm low resistance auto wire and a $3.10 NGK plug cap from PB Parts in Florida. Some coil wires unscrew some don't.

These type of coils generate higher sparkpower as the revs exponentially increases............Its not a direct replacement and will take some modding to make work.......Its very similar to the mega-fire ignition modules........The tiny hole in the red pickup adjusts the timing via a tiny adjustment pot to finetune performance...I can use 4 stroke coils on this setup.....

that thing looks like a transformer??? and ill look to do some of the thing i saw in your pictures. i already have an ngk spark plug. and it has a good spark but i bet if it was a little stronger it could burn better and i installed a rocket key and wow it surprised me how much better the throttle response is :) now before i get going with this ignition coil project i want to figure something out.. ( i took apart my cone air filter today and it had (oil) and my carb is running perfect it has no leaks is tuned right and it works like it should.but for some reason the air filter had oil in it,like if some1 got wd_40 and gave it a spray i think that i might need to install a boost bottle to see if it helps with this problem what u guys think?) ooh and thxs alot for the ideas :)

Your getting spitbacks from improperly sealing reeds..........What reeds do you have in there..?

most of the time that i ride it , i let it warm up give 2 or 3 revs and then go and race with my friend and most of the time i have the throttle open to the max and after am done racing i take it back home let it idle for 5 min,hit the kill switch and clean it for the next time i take it out.

is there anyway that i can make my own with a few materials?? also when i do this i want to mod it i want to cut the little piece in the middle also i want to make em open a little further also i want to cut a few blades from the cooling fan. any tips on the reed situation? oooh and install the boost bottle

I would stick to basic upgrades and not go too large without having an engine that can handle the mod.....Youll need an engine built close to 14:1,,ported to race specs,,blueprinted and with a full circle crank installed to enhance velocity

Im just giving good warning that theres a chance of failure....If you want to do it to see what happens by all means hook it up yo......

Id just mod the reedstopper to open up a lil further and use either black widow or stock reeds because the stiffer reeds work the best in these engines...What sux though is the tin reeds dont react like a performance set of reeds .....What sux more is installing the fiberglass/carbon fiber composite reeds and running into reedflutter problems....

If ya got a dremel you can blueprint the reedplate to intake and then smooth flow by dremeling out the sharp edges and aerofoiling the centerbar and then blueprintint the intake aswell as modding the reedstopper by shortening it a tad then using a dremel with a barrel sander bit to reshape the finger ends and to make the space between the fingers wider to flow more fuel...

Continued...........................

The boost bottle idea is ok but theres only i true way to add a boost bottle nipple.....On Top...If you have the stock carb you can add the boost nipple into the carb itself...........Not the intake...a member Jaloos has it done to one of his carbs...I have a carb done up too but its in a box somewhere because I use nothing but pumper carbs............

For the flywheel you need to clip every third to get a 12 fin.....

Just an observation but, theoretically changing ignition wire to lower resistance will hurt spark if you're not upgrading coil output (Lost Voltage Pressure).??
Is it something like if you were to Pump water through a 1" hose and switch to a 2" hose it will take more Pressure(Voltage) to Jump the Spark/plug gap.?
