So, had this engine of used leftover parts and bought shortblock. Realized I didnt put a finished product into it. I think I was just attaching parts.
The head bolts were 2 tight, 2 loose, intake bolts loose. But had potential. As it already sported a taper bored carb, modified reed stopper, lightened flywheel, lightened/balanced clutch, race coil, and 2pc top end.
Old cylinder head and what do you know.....a full circle crank. Definitely forgot about that. Just goes to show the need to write down on paper what is done to an engine, EVEN if you only build one.
Just want to make a runner with some performance work. Decided one piece NEW cylinder I had up for sale. Did a little transfer port matching to the case, did not polish but after dremel, 100 grit, and 600 grit. Pretty smooth, gonna leave it. Fingers crossed for close to double HP. Thinking 3hp. Pleanty considering I will sell it. Compression isnt too high so pump 92-93 will be fine. Squish came in around 0.048"-0.050". Easy pull still and definitely an upgrade.
Installed a stock clutch with HP springs. With the heavier FCC I want the clutch to be a little heavier so I skipped lightening it. Also I plan to sell the motor so keep my modified clutch for myself.
Decided to keep the lightened flywheel and install a stock one, but went with an advanced rocket key.
And then slapped it the rest of the way together.
Too cold here to run it. But I will break it in as soon as the warmth appears.
Its a zk44-6A-2 44mm. Has fingers, came with good squish with a stock gasket.
