I have a question having to do with the regulator/rectifier on an fs509 cateye.

Is the regulator on my cateye the same as on a bike such as an X18? If you look at the diagrams below of both of the bikes, the wiring for them is very different for what each pin is used for.

I just want to know if I have to buy a X18 type regulator or if the regulator on my cateye will work correctly if i wire it up like that of an X18.

The reason I ask is because i'm in the process of wiring up all the electrical for a 110cc that i have mounted in my stretched cateye frame.

You only need it if your going to run lights and use a e-starter. If not then you dont need it. If look on my thread (x18 project nightmare) CAM2 posted a diagram for a 4stroke motor to run w/o all the headace with messing with the lights and etc. I made my own harness by using his diagram and it works.
