I recently bought my first pocket bike and I am having a mix up whether it is an X7 or a cateye. The sides of the bike look like a cateye but the front of it looks the exact same as an X7. All of the images of cateyes which I have found on the internet look different to this bike so I am a bit confused . Please help me out.
Cateye is the only bike that ive seen that uses a dual chain setup. One thing about the china bike is that they will make match body parts on bikes. I have a X2 bike that has X5 side plastics. Also i have a X1 that has a X2 chain and sprocket setup. So they use whatever they have laying around the warehouse at the time. Also with the X7 uses a 9" rim setup and the frame is made to take a 49cc or 110cc motor. Also the pull start on your bike is on the wrong side to be a X7. Cateyes use a 6" or 6.50" wide rear rim with a free hub on the rear.

There aint no mix-up...You were told good info...You have a Cateye with X1 wheels...The X1 wheels arent wide enough .........Youre gonna need an X7 rear wheel to get the right width tire to sprocket or youre gonna have to move the engine over to install a continuous chain to line up without the jackshaft gear..............

It does have the stock front wheel and looks like someone was trying to get more mph's on the topend by adding an X1/X2 rearwheel.....It seems the rearwheel has a TF-8mm sprocket of 40 teeth aswell..........
To get your problem worked out youre gonna need an X7 2 stroker rearwheel and sprocket..........The X7 rim is wider than the X1/X2 rim and will get you lined-up alot better so you can run one single chainset or still use the jackshaft.........Good Luck....
Ok, Cause when I first bought the bike I was able to ride it around for a bit it was great. Only a couple of days ago It fell of so I took a link out of the chain and tried again and it was too tight so I put the link back on and made sure there werent any mistakes and it was up and ready to go. Should I still buy the x7 rear wheel just in case?
Of course you was able to ride it but id things arent lined up correctly things like bearings go bad.....Youre gonna have to refine what you have or mod it with the right parts
prop the rearwheel up and spin it without a chain.....It should roll pretty smooth without binding or grinding........If it doesnt get new wheel bearings and make sure the axle spacer tube is between the bearings when being changed.....If the axle spacer tube is missing youre gonna have to make one.......
to fix your problem quickly Id go with the X7 2 stroke rear wheel complete with wheel bearings,,10feet of TF-8mm chain and 2 masterlinks..
not lining everything up and replacing parts will just be a temp fix with quick disasterous results..
Pull the wheel bearings out or drive then out with the axle on an angle.They come out pretty easily...Theres a number laser etched into the bearing shield cover..It should say something like 6001zz.........6101zz
Ok tanks so much I am thinking of removing the fuse, tacho and speedometer off it. Should their be any problems when doing that or wires that I have to be careful of not cutting?
You can get bearings cheap on eBay, if you buy 6 or 10+ at a time.
You have different rims front and rear, better get the numbers off the bearings. My Cags 10 x 26 x 8mm- 6000zz are 10 shipped $13.47. On my X7 wheels they are 12 x 32 x 10mm- 6201ZZ, 6 for $15.47. The ZZ are steel seals, RS is rubber/steel seals and there is open, no seals, seen on crankshafts.
