white smoke

ok so i got a new carb on my pocket bike and it runs now it blow a lot of white smoke when i rev is that a good thing r bad thing beacause the old carb never had that much smoke

Just an educated guess because Im not there in person, but it sounds like an actual fuel problem. I would check or just replace the gas with a New supply. Try a small mixed amount at 1st - assuming this is a 2 stroke engine. White smoke indicates that coolant is being burned, but if its an air cooled engine then there is none obviously. However, the fuel in the tank may be contaminated or just old as gas looses its chemical stability after awile. You can drain whats in the carb right now via the carb bowl drain screw, ( bottom side & might have to push on it as you turn if the screw is somewhat stuck in its port ) & put into a clean container to see it. The 1 in my avatar would not start 1 time. Power washed it & some water got into the tank through the tank cap vent. Examined fuel out of bowl, changed it & it worked great after. I dont think there would be a prob from the carb, but get the right gasoline : oil ratio if it is a 2 stroke engine.

Hes got a pumper carb but he does either have a mixture problem with the fuel or the carb is set too rich...........

Youre always supposed to see some smoke or theres no protection going on inside the engine;-just damage..

2 stroke mix seperates in the tank while it sits and you must shake the bike up to remix the fuel/oil before pumping the primer bulb so you dont burn a thick oil mix in the beginning thinning down the protection in the mix by burning it off.........

Im sure this is what youre most likely seeing...........

turning the screw outwards introduces more fuel to the situation[richer]

turning the screw inwards lessens the fuel to the situation...[leaner]

with this new carb can i start putting 93 unlead r should i wait and how long can gas just sit in my tank before it no good and mess up the engine plz answer both questions

You can put the 93 in right away.........ethanol fuel doesnt keep to well without using an ethanol fuel stabilizer...without a stabilizer it wont last past a few weeks.......With stabilizer it will last a year.......

Thanks...I was amazed the blackberry mic picked me up after I started the engine..............Yeah the last part was said because I can tune these bikes in my sleep now..............My engines are always in tune unless its super humid and ultra hot.

revving it to the moon to get a really good tune is how you know its gonna scream with-in reason...You may have to tweak the fuel rate needle a bit to get it in the super sweetspot but that method gets it real good......

Fully charge the battery and do a load test on it...Theres a safety interlock built-into the rear brakehandle that must be pulled to get the e-starter to engage..........also check for a bad fuseholder or blown fuse

I use a battery tender trickle charger...you can use a battery charger on 2 amps but youll have to monitor the charge

to change the brake pads you remove the caliper off its mount and then pull the pads out,,,dont lose the spreader clip or reassembly will be a royal pain........

To do any real mods you need to take the engine out or pull the cylinder and work on the ports and stuff.

I opened my extra motor today. The ports were gummed up really bad. So im going to be working on the ports on the head on my extra motor. With the 49cc motor (not the cag motor) can you run it with out a base gaskit?

I have plenty of tips and tricks,,it just depends on how comfortable you feel ripping an engine down and taking a dremel to a majority of it.....
any tip without disassmaly the engine
